Zutara's Story

Chapter Five

There were quite a few Earth Kingdom boats, one Southern Water Tribe boat and then Appa with the Avatar and Sokka. Zuko turned to Katara and then spoke. "How can one waterbender cause so much trouble?" 

"Good connections." Katara responded. 

The Avatar jumped onto Zuko's boat then rushed to Katara and embraced her. When Aang let go of Katara he questioned her. "Are you hurt? Are you okay? Did he treat you nicely?" Then he turned to Zuko. "If you hurt her..."

Katara interrupted. "Aang I am fine honestly, we were about to spar." Katara drags Aang to the other side of the boat. "Look I know you probably want me to leave this ship and go marry Haru to save my village but I kind of want to stay here. Zuko has been really nice and he needs someone close to his age. He needs a friend, so we may fight but ultimately I am staying here with him for a while. I am sorry Aang." 

"Katara how can you do that. He is fire nation, his people killed your mom and the air nomads. How can you choose to stay with him?" Sokka said furious as he came out of nowhere. 

"Sokka, Aang look you guys have each other and you have all the people we met. Sokka you have Dad and Bato. Zuko only has his Uncle and his men, he hasn't mentioned his father and I haven't seen him. Zuko needs someone his age, that is why I have decided to stay here." 

"But Katara we need you." Sokka said and Aang agreed.

"Just go and find a teacher for Earth bending, you have mastered waterbending. Have fun and don't get into too much trouble." Katara then walked back to Zuko. 

Sokka and Aang both left the ship, soon all the other ships were leaving. "I thought you wanted to catch Aang." 

"I couldn't do that with all those boats right there. It would cause more trouble then we... I am already in." Zuko responded. 

"So are we going to spar now or not because of that little interruption?" Katara said a little hesitant to ask. 

"Sure but first...never mind let's go spar." Zuko said walking away. 

Katara followed him then spoke. "How are we going to determine who won?" 

"If you want the loser could be whoever gets pinned first. I mean I am larger and stronger but you are faster and smarter."

"Actually that is a perfect idea. Let's begin." Katara said in response. Katara distracted Zuko with a water whip while she made a frozen area right in front of Zuko. Zuko took this opportunity to rush Katara. He slipped but fire came out of his feet he purposely missed so he wouldn't hurt her. She ducked but she also slipped. He rolled over and Katara and him started to wrestle. They were constantly switching who had almost won but neither gave up. Then someone yelled, someone they hadn't been expecting for a while.
