"I will marry Haru to save our village." Katara responds like the weight of the world is on her shoulders.
"We could always reply that you are engaged and possibly our sister tribe might have someone to marry Haru."
"Ya, that could work. Katara you can't do that." Sokka replies.
"No, Sokka, Aang, this is something that I have to do. Reply with a yes then I will head out tomorrow on one of our ships, if that is okay?"
"You are so much like your mother. Always thinking you bear the weight of the world on your shoulders. I will head out with you tomorrow." Hakoda says proud of his daughter.
That night Katara packed her bags. Aang walked in and sat on Katara's bed. "I am really going to miss you Katara." Katara sat down next to him.
"I will miss you too."
"This is hard for me, but I love you Katara."
"I love you too Aang. I am going to miss you so much, you are such a great friend. Well I should be getting to bed now. I have a long day tomorrow." Katara said almost pushing Aang out the door. He kissed her cheek then ran out the room, blushing.
Katara went to bed when she woke up in the morning there was a large feast to send her off. There were heartfelt goodbyes and tears shed. Katara boarded the boat with her father, Bato, his son Hahn and a few other men. Hahn is two years older than her and has liked her for a while now. Hahn was able to go to war yet Sokka wasn't, so Sokka holds a grudge against him and wouldn't ever let Hahn near Katara.
"Hey Katara, so this is pretty brave of you, huh?" Hahn stated trying to start a conversation with her.
"Ya, it was what needed to be done. So would you mind showing me to where I am going to stay?"
"Sure thing. So are you nervous?" He said while taking her ar in his so he could lead her to her room.
"Not really."
"I don't think I could ever marry a complete stranger. I know who the girl is that I want to marry and she is perfect but that dream has been squashed."
"I know the guy, somewhat. I met him, got him arrested for bending, then got myself arrested. But that was so I could save him and his father, which I helped do. And who is this 'perfect' girl you speak of?"
"I would love to hear some more of your adventures. Oh here is your room. I guess I will see you later."
The next day consisted of eating meals, Katara sharing her adventures and polite conversations. On the second day at sea, Katara was in her room when the ship stopped, she knew they weren't at a dock so she headed to the deck. She was right about to turn the corner and get into view when she heard a stanger's voice. "Give me the princess and no one gets hurt."
"There is no official princess but there is someone who with her heart and looks should be a princess." Hahn sweetly replied.
The stranger was getting agitated. "Just give me the girl, you know the one that is promised to that important Earth Kingom guy."
"No!!" Hakoda, Bato, and especially Hahn all shouted no.So Katara rounded the corner.
"Here I am the only girl on the ship, the youngest, and the last waterbender master of the southern water so you talk to me about my person." She stated.
"You are coming with me." She could now see the stranger. He was about Hahn's age, handsome, and a huge scar over one of his eyes.
"No, I don't think so." She replys calmly then she continues. "You see I have to save my village."
