Chapter 08: Shipwrecked!
*Willow's/Anastasia's POV*
Shrek, Donkey, Puss In Boots, and Zero and I were traveling back to Far, Far, Away on the boat. We stood near the end of the boat together while Artie looked back at The Worcestershire Academy before he turned round and faced us.
Is it wrong to say I like the way his hair dances a little with the wind? It makes him look so- "I can't believe it. Me, a King? I...I knew I came from royalty and all, but...I just thought everyone forgot about me."
"Oh, no. In fact, the King asked for you personally." Shrek told him.
I shook my head and leaned my back against the wooden railing. "Aun-Uh, I mean Queen Lillian certainly hasn't forgotten about you. She told me about you herself not long ago."
Artie looked at me with a face full of hope. "Really? Wow."
I smiled and nodded. "Really, really." He smiled at me and we stared at each other for awhile. I'm pretty sure I'm blushing because my cheeks suddenly feel a little warm, but I can't help it that I like it when he smiles.
Zero cleared his throat, making us break eye contact and look away from each other. "So, uh...on the subject of returning to Far, Far, Away, I am not afraid to say that I can't wait to get back to Alice."
I smirked. "Not even away for a day, and you already miss her? You're such a simp, Zero."
Artie looked between Zero and I confused. "Who's Alice? Is she a pet or something?"
Zero and I looked at each other, then at Artie, then at each other again and burst out laughing while clutching our stomachs. "Ahaha! Wait until Alice hears this!"
Artie still looked confused. "Um...what's so funny?"
I calmed down a little and cleared my throat. "Alice isn't a pet or any animal or mythical creature you can think of. She's a fairy who has the ability to communicate with animals and understand their feelings."
Zero wiped a stray tear from the corner of his eye and was still laughing. "She's also my girlfriend and Willow's cousin."
Artie's eyes went wide in surprise. "Wait, seriously?! I thought you two-"
"Heck no!" I started laughing again. "No, I don't even have a boyfriend. This idiot here is my best friend. I probably wouldn't have made it through my miserable school life if it wasn't for Zero and Alice."
Zero leaned his back against the wooden railing next to me and nudged me playfully. "Well, someone has to prevent you from getting into an accident, ya damn klutz."
I glared at him playfully. "Rude."
Artie chuckled before turning to Shrek. "Look, I know it's not all gonna be fun and games."
Shrek nodded. "It really is all fun and games, actually." He leaned his arm on the wooden railing and faced Artie. "Sure, you have to knight a few heroes, launch a ship or two. By the way, make sure you hit the boat just right with the bottle."
Artie snorted. "Boat with a bottle? Any idiot can hit a boat with a bottle." I stifled a laugh.
Shrek chuckled. "Well, I've heard it's harder than it looks."
Zero smirked. "You'll probably have lessons on ballroom dancing-"
"You poor unfortunate soul-"
"And I'll be teaching you myself on handling a sword."
