Kaida stood on the outcropping of the castle that was attached to the room she was staying in, leaning against the railing and looking up at all of the hybrids who flew in the sky, laughing and chasing each other. It had been about a week since Ryuu had saved her from the Emperor and they had killed him and they had been slowly tracking down every single mining colony and freeing them now that they had a list of where they all were. Her eyes locked on a familiar figure as they flew faster than all of the others, headed straight toward her. She smiled as Ryuu landed, his armor clanging as he did so and she walked over to him, her wings held up behind her. The healing process was slow but she was beyond grateful that they would heal. Ryuu turned to her and she saw a tired smile stretch across his face.
"Kaida." He breathed, taking a step toward her. "How are you feeling?"
Kaida gave him another smile before helping him take off his armor and put it away in the room adjacent to hers. Soon they were both sitting on the railing, looking up at the sky.
"I'm healing." She told him, stretching out her wings slowly before pulling them back in. "Thanks to you."
Ryuu reached out his hand before pulling it back into his lap and nodded. Kaida turned to him just as Ryuu looked at her and he ran a hand through his hair.
"Kaida, I have to ask you something."
Kaida frowned. Did something happen on the last mission? Ryuu closed his eyes for a second before opening them again and locking onto her eyes.
"We have to tell the others about your lineage"
Kaida sighed before smiling slightly.
"Oh my gosh Ryuu, do not scare me like that!" She laughed, watching Ryuu's expression change from nervous to incredulous. "I thought something went wrong on the last mission."
Ryuu's frown became more pronounced and she sighed, scooting over to him and laying her head on his shoulder, breathing in the clear air.
"I know that Ryuu. I've known for a while, I think."
She felt Ryuu sigh next to her and she laughed again, gazing up at the sky. Slowly, her expression dropped and she lifted her head, turning to look at Ryuu.
"What now?"
Ryuu gave her a small smile and grabbed her hand, gesturing with his other one at the sky.
"We get the hybrids together and tell them." He said, opening his wings and standing up, pulling her with him. "Then, we start piecing your kingdom back together."
She snorted at 'her kingdom' but didn't say anything else for a while.
"Then what?"
"Then, Kaida," He whispered, kissing her cheek and causing her to blush. "We live."
And with Ryuu holding her, they took off into the sky.
