Flashback
~~~~~~~~~~~
Lucy sat in the hospital chair, looking at Natsu in sadness and regret. "Oh Natsu..... what did I do to you....?" Lucy said, a tear sliding down her cheek. The door opened, and in came in Natsu's doctor, Dr. Spickes. "Ms. Heartfilia, may I please talk to you?" He asked. She politely nodded and followed him out of the room."Ms. Heartfilia," Mr. Spickes started. "Please, call me Lucy." Lucy said politely. "Lucy," He started again. "I have some very sad news." He said. Lucy frowned. 'Things can't really get any worse than now, right?' Lucy thought hopefully. But the thought betrayed her. "Natsu Dragneel has heart problems, he has had it for 6 years, so there is no sign of possibility of living. There is a huge chance that he will die." The doctor said.
*Crack* What was that? Lucy's heart breaking. "D-die?" Lucy said, putting her hands over her mouth and let the tears fall freely. 'I am such a baby.' She thought. But was she really? I mean, wouldn't anyone cry when it was their fault that their friend got stabbed and then when the doctor tells them that their friend has heart problems so bad that they'll die? I would.
"I am afraid so." Mr. Spickes said, but Lucy couldn't hear him, she could only hear the voices nagging at her.
'Look what you did to him, he's going to die.' 'Yeah! It's all your fault!' 'See what you did, your the criminal, not your dad.' "Stop, stop, STOP!!!" Lucy cried, tears running down her face like a river. "Lucy-" "STOP!!" She yelled out to the voices again. "LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!" She cried out, the doctor realizing what was happening. "Lucy-" "NO, STOP!!!!" "LUCY!!!! LISTEN!!!!" The doctor shook her into reality, but the tears were still falling down her face.
☆☆☆☆☆☆Dr. Spickes' POV (Gomen if it doesn't make sense, but I hope it will after.)
▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪Doctor Spickes was truly worried. The poor girl in front of him seemed so hopeless that even he wanted to give up on life. The tears that ran down fast like a car on the highway. The shaking that seemed like she was on a vibrating chair. Her once confused chocolate brown orbs were dull and filled with fear. Fear of friendship, hope, life.
"Are they gone?" Lucy asked like a little child and sniffed, snapping the doctor back to reality. "Who's gone?" Mr. Spickes asked, holding on to her shoulders. "Th-the voices. Are they gone?" Lucy asked again. The doctor sighed and hugged the girl.
"Listen to this," He told the girl. "Things are never goimg to be better," He paused. "But things will never get worse. Understand?" He asked, pulling away from the hug. "N-no.." Lucy shook her head. He smiled. "Knowing won't help, so that's good." Lucy looked at him in confusion. He pushed her slightly back into Natsu's room. "You'll understand..." He said, closing the door.
Katherine Vora, his nurse, walked up to him and gave him a sad smile. "That poor girl," She said, shaking her head slightly.
He opened his coat and looked at a picture of a beautiful pink haired woman wearing a white scarf.
"Oh, Alighsa, what did I do wrong?" He muttered.
Lucy's POV
☆☆☆☆☆
After being used to being pushed around by someone all the time, (*cough* Mr. Heartfilia *cough* ) she was immuned to the feeling. So when Dr. Spickes pushed her into the room, she didn't bother scream in pain, or any of that. Lucy just sobbed, still not over the fact that once again, a very special person to her was going to die. And even though it seemed like he wasn't, he was her world, the only person who understood her the best. Now, he was leaving her...... like the rest.
~~~~~~~~~~~Flashback End
Lucy's POV (Not third person.)
I looked at Natsu, crying again. "N-Natsu..... you've had heart cancer for..... for 6 years....." I said, crying even harder. "And-and when you got stabbed......... it-it just...... Oh Natsu look what I did! I just made it easier for you....you to..." I managed to say before bursting into tears. Natsu looked at me in shock, and covered his heart with a hand. "H-heart cancer? Death? L-Luce, ya gotta be kidding me...." He said, laughing slightly. "R-right?" I looked away, not wanting to tell the truth. "No! I-I can't die, not now...." He said, his bangs covering his eyes.
"I'm sorry, Natsu.... I'm a horrible friend, I'm going to make you die...." I said, looking away again. Natsu lightly grabbed my chin, and made me look at him. "Luce, look, this is not your fault." Natsu said. "It's true."
I looked at his onyx eyes, filled with determination and hope. 'I wish I was strong as you, Natsu.' I thought.
His famous smile returning on his face, a smile that seemed so unreal, like it was the happiest and brightest thing in the room. It was so happy, I felt a smile curve onto my face too. "Natsu....." I whispered, tears falling down my face in happiness. "I would die for you, Lucy Heartfilia, my life is yours." He whispered, then leaned towards me and layed down on me, his head on my left shoulder.
"I love you...." He whispered. I smiled even more, and the tears never stopped. "Why-why would you love someone like me?" I asked, giggling a bit. He never answered. I wondered if he would ever answer that. "I love you too, Natsu, I love you too." I whispered, and Natsu whispered lullabies to me.
"Go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep my little sunshine...."
