Chapter 10: Ridiculous

I walked with Jay and Mal to Mal's locker so she could grab some of her stuff, and hopefully give Ben his magic cookie.

"Look, it's Mal." A few of the girls started waving at Mal from the picnic table nearby, "Hi, Mal! Love my hair, Mal!" Mal waved back to them and they all went back to their conversations leaving us alone.

"Are you feeling kind of weird about this? I mean, it's not so bad here, you know." Jay asked us. I was a bit surprised in all honesty. He's about the last person, besides Mal, I would ever expect to like it here.

"Are you insane? Long live evil! You're mean! You're awful! You're bad news!" Mal said, really getting all up in his face.

"Yeah dude, snap out of it," I said taking Mal's side.

Though, for a split second, I kind of agreed with him. I mean, we're actually treated like people here, unlike how we were on the Isle. But, Mal's right, were evil. We don't belong here.

"Thanks, guys. I needed that." Jay said before leaving us so he could flirt with the girls at the picnic tables.

"Oh, hello. The name's Jay. You all going to the tourney game tonight?" Jay asked all the girls flirting with them. "Keep a lookout for number eight, all right? Scoring the winning goal."

"She did it to Jane's hair, too, and Fairy Godmother's not happy about it." I heard Audrey say from the other side of the hall. Talk about a loudmouth and a narcissist.

"What's the harm?" Ben said, sticking up for Mal.

"It's gateway magic! Sure, it starts with the hair. Next thing you know it's the lips and the legs and the clothes and then everybody looks good and then... where will I be?" Audrey said acting all hurt.

"Talk about a petty pink poser," I mumbled to Mal. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at Audrey's theatrics, I mean, talk about over dramatic. Mal laughed at my joke, she knew I was right. Audrey was nothing more than an attention hog.

"Listen, Audrey-" Ben said, trying to be nice to his girlfriend for half a second.

"I will see you at the game after my dress-fitting for the coronation, okay?" Audrey interrupted Ben, continuing to make it all about her.

"Okay," Ben said defeated.

"Bye, Benny-boo." She said all too perky before leaving him.

"Hey, Benny-boo!" Mal mocked Audrey, instantly gaining Ben's attention.

"Hey." He said, walking over to the two of us.

"We just made a batch of cookies. Double chocolate chip, do you want one?" Mal said, holding up the bag of cookies.

"Oh, I, uh, I've got a big game. I don't eat before a big game." Ben tried to politely decline, "But thank you so, so much. Thank you. Next time. Next time." He said, starting to walk away.

"No, yeah." Mal said, and Ben turned around once again, "I completely understand. Be careful of treats offered by kids of villains."

"No, no, no," Ben said, trying to undo what just happened.

"No, I'm sure every kid in Auradon knows that." I piped up from beside Mal.
