When the hourglass breaks
Sand slips through the fingers
Each grain hits the floor
Shatters into shards of diamonds. Each fractal of a shard
Breaks light into
A billion little beams
And captures.The lulling mesmer
Of dancing rainbows
A colorful enrapture
Draws me in.My impetuous feet follow
The flamboyant pattern
Paint the floor red
Until the hues die.Fat drops of tears
Wash away the blood
Just as the blood
Washed away the forlorn. And I stand still
My ears seeking
Applause from an audience
That wasn't even there.
