There's this veil that I own
that stood for many things.
It was passed down the line
of family and diamond rings.
It stood for the snow
where my mother had died,
and let me know,
she was always by my side.
It stood for the friendships
in the future I will make,
for the lack of them now
was a dream, so I'll wake.
It stood for the hope
of a world far from tame,
that we can work with each other,
know everyone name by name.
And lastly,
it stood for the happiness,
that I experience now,
as I walk down the aisle,
this veil upon my brow.
And this veil tells a story
that only I will know.
Of the hope and the joy
as the organs sing low.
