More than I thought

I tossed and turned in my bed, trying to get comfortable. The guilt was tearing me apart on the inside, and my scar was burning as if it was struck with a branding iron.

"You've come back, to fulfill your destiny as your father's daughter, Delphini." Rodolphus greets me with a deep bow, and I smile. 

"The girl is out there. I can feel it."

I sat straight up in bed screaming. I heard my parents suddenly wake up and run down the hallway and into my room. 

"Rosie... Are... You.... Alright?" My dad was panting, and really, so was I. 

"Yes dad. It was just a nightmare." 

He looked disbelieving. "I've never heard you scream like that." 

I sighed. "I guess... It was... Um.... Well, I'm fine, so you can go back to sleep now." 

He looked me over a few times before going to bed, and as I lay back on my own bed, I wondered if my scar was as harmless as I thought it was.
