Death or Life?

2 years later, at the age of 15, I had been going to school for a while. Although it was hard for me, I tried. Me and Yuei were walking down a road at 9:35 pm. The street lights were flickering on and off. We saw another person coming down the sidewalk we were on. We both went off the sidewalk just to be safe. When we passed him Yuei looked at me and said, "that was close..." "Yea. Let's go to your house since it's closer. Could I spend the night there?" "Yea sure." In an instant after those words being said, a shadow jumped out from behind us. It was the man from earlier. He jumped on Yuei and bit his shoulder. Blood rushed out of his arm as I looked to my side in fear, my bestfriend was being eaten by one of my kind. I froze in fear. I couldn't move. I heard Yuei's screams of pain. 'What do I do?' I thought to myself 'let me friend get eaten alive or reveal that I'm a ghoul and save him?' I looked at him as blood flew across the street, onto the sidewalk, onto the killer, onto me. I made my decision. My eyes turned black and red, it had never happened to me before. I felt strong. I was hungry. I tackle the other ghoul off and started to eat him. Cannibalism was all I could resort to. I wasn't going to eat my best friend. He looked over to me and watched me eat the other ghoul, I looked over at him and he looked petrified. 'Theres no going back now' I thought to myself. I stood up and wiped my face with my sleeve and looked down. I walked over to Yuei an picked him up to help him walk. "Y-You're a ghoul?!" I kept quiet not talking, as my eyes turned back to normal. I looked over at him. "I-I'm sorry..." I threw my jacket off so no one at Anteiku had known what happen. I walked Yuei to the hospital, and left back home. I arrived at 1:33 am and walked up to my room, but too a surprise Manager was waiting there. "Where were you?" "With a friend.." "Why is there blood stains on your pants?" I looked down at my pants, and thought to myself, 'damn! I didn't look good enough..' I didn't respond back to the manager. "After school we will be going somewhere. So tell that friend of yours you have businesses to do after school. Good night." I walked into my room and took off my clothes, then lie down on the bed thinking of how bad that had turned out. And that's how My best friend, Yuei Alein, found out I was a ghoul.
