it was a sunny day, not too warm nor too cold and you decided to check out if anyone needed help in Mondstadt. since the weather was good and you finished all your paperwork already, you made your way to Katheryne, wanting to ask if she had any comissions.
on the way there you kept your strict facade, nodding to greet a few people on the way, keeping your hands folded behind you.
some admired you, some found you a bit strange but it didn't matter. in the end you were an excellent captain for the guild and your work was praised by everyone.
you found yourself in front of the reception of the adventurous guild, chatting with Katheryne about what was happening around Mondstadt when a jumpy boy ran towards you.
he had various bandages on his face messily taped and a toothy grin. he was indeed handsome but you would rather describe him as adorable with his ash-grey hair and not properly done clothes.
it looked like he was in a hurry since he sprinted here and it seemed as if he had just thrown his gear on, not really caring if it was messy.
after catching his breath, he glanced at you, eyes widening. "oh! you are the captain!" he exclaimed, shooting you a closed-eye grin. yes, he was very cute.
you just nodded and turned to him properly, asking "and who might you be?"
proudly he introduced himself as Bennett, the leader of Benny's Adventure Team jumping up and down. you remembered, Katheryne told you once that there was a group of only one person at the adventurous guild since nobody wanted to join due to his bad luck.
when you first heard about it, you indeed felt a bit bad but shrugged it off, thinking he would find someone one day who was willing to stay with him but when you saw him, the feeling intensified.
he was too innocent and cute to be all alone, you wanted to protect him at all cost. he was now talking to the receptionist about his new comission when you interfered. "i'll join your team for today."
to say that Bennett was surprised was an understatement. happiness spread through him and he couldn't help but smile and hug you, catching you off guard. you didn't expect this reaction but it made your heart melt.
the boy knew you from stories his former members told him about. you were a strong and reliable captain, everyone admired you. so having you in his team, even if it was just for one day, made him all giddy and happy.
