Why Did You Do That?

"Rory, Amy, you two go to the left and River and I will go to the right. We'll meet at the North entrance in twenty minutes. If anything goes wrong press the button on the side of your watch and it'll send you a notification. If it's a code purple then it'll transport you to the person that sent the distress signal. Got it?"

Everybody nods at the Doctor in understanding and they all get up from the floor of the TARDIS.

"Ready?" asks the Doctor.

"Ready," says River, Amy, and Rory in unison.

The Doctor opens the door and each team goes their separate way. The Doctor and River go right and down a long hallway. 

"Once we shut down the factory can we leave?" asks River.

"Yes."

"Good. Let's just hope nothing goes wrong."

The Doctor stops in front of River and turns back to her showing her that it's time to be quiet. There's soft footsteps coming from around the corner. The Doctor and River flatten themselves against the wall and watch as humans pass by. Each one wearing an eye drive so that they can remember their meetings with the members of the Silence that are here to protect the factory. Once they turn another corner the Doctor and River run down the hall until they reach the Head Office.

"It shouldn't be occupied...." mumbles the Doctor. He brings out his Sonic Screwdriver but River places her hand on his arm and says, "That'll be too loud. Let me just burn the lock off."

"But then they'll know that we've been here," replies the Doctor.

"But we'll be long gone by the time they find us."

"River, it'll be better if I use my screwdriver."

"Fine. But we better not get caught if somebody hears it."

The Doctor uses his screwdriver on the lock which opens the door. River looks behind her and sees nobody coming. They sneak into the room and the Doctor immediately goes to the controls while River goes to the filing cabinet and looks through the papers and files.

"This is going to be quick so be ready to run," the Doctor informs River.

She grabs some papers and files that look important and then goes to the Doctor's side.

"Okay. Let's do this," she says.

The Doctor turns everything off and then the alarms are blaring and the Doctor and River are running out of the office and back down all the hallways that they had come through. Just as they're about to turn the corner that leads to the hallway where the TARDIS is a group of soldiers are there standing in the way.

"Well, well, well. Look what we've got here. The Doctor and River Song. I believe that I could get a lot of money for turning you in Song. And as for you, Doctor, I'm sure somebody would pay a great deal of money to get their hands on you," says the Soldiers' leader. A man in black army clothing.

"How did you know we were here?" River demands.

"One of my soldiers heard the unmistakable sound of the Doctor's screwdriver of course."

"I told you it was a bad idea to use your screwdriver!" says River, giving the Doctor a glare.

She quickly pulls out her gun and starts firing. The soldiers fire their guns and start to advance on them. 

"Run!" yells River to the Doctor.

Just then the Doctor notices a flicker of movement from the corner of his eye. He whirls around and sees that a soldier from far away is aiming their gun directly at River. The gun fires and the Doctor steps in front of the bullet. River turns around and sees the gunman and shoots him then looks down and notices the Doctor lying on the ground bleeding out.
