This is short but yea.
Chapter 7:
I settled down and was ready to relax. Everything was quiet until I was hit with a familiar sound.
DUN DUN DUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUN
Ned and I grinned and high fived. I gave a quick thumbs up to dad. Thanks. He winked back.
After today we deserved to watch Star Wars.
A few minutes later we were supplied with snacks. Everyone got a random assortment, but I had my favorites.
Orange gummies, skittles, and peanut butter cups. Yum.
As much as I loved Star Wars, I was tired. So I pretty much zoned out. However I knew the movie by heart, including all the pauses. So even without focusing I still could quote lines on time with Ned.
MJ said it was creepy but I ignored her. It was my true superpower.
It could only be better if it was just my family/friends without my classmates. Sure they were enjoying themselves, but they talked a bit. And they didn't appreciate it as much as we did. Everyone was mostly focusing on the Avengers still, not the movie.
And they say we're the losers.
Some people fell asleep halfway through. I envied them. I wanted to sleep, but I couldn't in this position.I preferred sleeping on the ceiling or in a web hammock. I don't know why, it just felt right.
But it was chill compared to the rest of the tour. ✨bonding time✨
After the movie was over there was time for a few more questions. I actually paid attention this time, but all the interesting questions had already been asked. Oofers.
Lisa stood up and clapped her hands, getting our attention. "Okay everyone! It's time for the last part of the tour. There's a -"
She was interrupted as the door burst open, revealing Jemma Simmons in all her glory.
"Hey Stark! You know how Fitz and I are here for the S.H.I.E.L.D check up? Well he noticed something wrong with one of your interns work and now they're arguing and it's escatling very quickly and getting dangerous and it's good we can't have guns here because I'm sure he would use one if he had a chance and even I can't get them to stop and oh my gosh there are children here, I obviously interrupted something, sorry, bye!"
And she was gone.
I heard her footsteps quickly recede as she spoke on her phone.
"Oh Fitz you can't use your mental state as a way to guilt me onto your side! .... Of course I am on your side, that intern is so wrong, but you can't just fight with random people!"
By that point I couldn't hear her anymore, she probably was in the elevator.
Everyone stood in silent confusion, until Mr, Stark burst out laughing.
When he caught his breath he realized we were all watching him. "Sorry guys! Just ignore that and go back to your tour!"
Lisa got out attention again, and continued her speech. "As I was saying, there's a firework show nearby, and this high up we'll have an amazing view. We'll head over to a balcony now."
One of the girls did not like that. "But we're so high up!"
Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure she 's scared of heights. This must suck for her.
Luckily it wasn't a problem.
"Don't worry, it's enclosed with bulletproof glass. So there's no way you can fall. It's perfectly safe."
"Thanks." She didn't look that much more reassured but oh well.
I waved to the Avengers and we made our way to the balcony. We got ther about 10 minutes before the fireworks were set to go off.
"Kay, so just do whatever I guess. Stay here, but you can talk to your friends or ask questions."
Everyone started talking at once, which wasn't fun. I made my way to the front and looked out the window.
I loved the city at night. There was something so aesthetically pleasing about it.
About a minute later that was ruined as something hit the side of the building with a sickening thump.
Yay
