"Whats your power?" asked Sam.

"I fly." I replied, biting my lip.

After an awkward silence, i asked her the same question.

"Oh, i'm a shape shifter. I can transform into anything, any size, and shape, anytime." She expressively explained.

"That's really cool!" I said in awe, starting to get over the awkwardness of our conversation so far.

"Yeah, i suppose. Anyways, i hope that you're enjoying the school so far. Did you hear about switch day?" She expressively asked.

"I am enjoying the school so far, it seems awesome! Also, no, i didn't hear about switch day. Can you tell me what it is?" I replied.

"Oh, it's a day when you and a friend get to switch powers. It's really fun, and we do it about once a month. Sometimes, you can--"

As her voice trailed off, i thought back to when Cassie told me about switch day. I remembered what it was, it's just that Cassie never specified the name.

"Yeah, i know." I briefly interrupted.

She looked at me, seemingly shocked that i had interrupted her for a second, but then, she changed back to her usual perky self.

"Oh. Well, can we maybe do the next one together?" She hopefully asked.

"Well, the thing is that Cassie told me about it before, and i don't want to let her down, but i don't want to hurt your feelings either. So when she told me, she asked if i wanted to--"

I suddenly bumped into something.

"Ow!" I yelped as i felt my body ache from the strong force of the object i bumped into.

I scrunched up my face as i looked up to see what i bumped into.

It was no object. It was a guy. And he was... cute. Extremely.

He had dirty blond hair and charming blue eyes. He seemed like the guy who could make any girl swoon over him any second he wanted to. I was swooning over him that very second.

"I'm sorry," I stated as i felt my cheeks burning up. I knew that people were staring at me, but i didn't take my eyes off of whom i was addressing in my apology.

"It's fine. Are you OK?" He said, in a rich, masculine voice. My heart skipped a beat once i heard that sound, and suddenly i started smiling like an idiot.

"Yeah-yeah. I'm honestly fine. I didn't mean to hurt you or anything, so i hope you aren't mad. I mean, i was just talking with Sam, and all of a sudden, you came out of nowhere and i bumped into you. Well, not out of nowhere. You were probably doing something important, like walking to get food. You seem like the type of person that likes food. Getting food. I mean, i was walking to get food as well, but i ran into you and here i am, rambling." I said stupidly while running a shaky hand through my hair.

It took a while for him to process everything that i had said to him, since i started rambling. I had no clue why i did that though. I only do that when i get really, really nervous. And i haven't been 'really, really nervous' in forever.

"You don't have to ramble," he started, calmly. "You don't have to worry about me either." He smirked, before walking off.

I could hear my heart pounding in my ears, it was really fast.

"Ok, let's get our food." I turned to my new friend, smiling.

She smiled back at me, and then we walked over to the buffet.

I ended up getting a burger, fries and a milkshake, and then me and Sam started walking back to our table, none of us saying very much.

Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, i saw someone purposely trip Sam. I quickly turned my head to watch things unravel, then i stepped back to see what would happen.

Sam stood up, her happy expression changing all of a sudden. She looked pretty mad, and then she saw who tripped her. She looked infuriated.

"DAVID!!" She screamed, before turning into a gigantic orange scaly dragon, frightening the heck out of everyone in that room. Some people fainted and some ran out, leaving me in here with only a brave David, Cassie and her friend group, Sam the dragon and some more people.

"You think i'm scared of you, you idiot?" He said, doing a hand gesture and then, turning into a little puppy.

I couldn't help but laugh at his failed attempt of looking fierce, when all he did was turn into the opposite of scary-- adorable!

He was yapping away, as i couldn't breathe from laughing so hard. My eyes were watering, when i suddenly got over my laughter.

David quickly turned back into a human, and suddenly, Sam the dragon jumped on him, attacking him. I gasped as i watched it all go down.

Sam turned back into a human, looking down at an injured David. She smiled and said: "Hey, where is everyone?"

"Out. They-- they're out of here." Cassie replied, with wide eyes.

Me, Sam, Cassie, Taylor and Maddie walked back to our table and ate in peace, while students who ran outside started coming back in, and soon enough, the place was back to normal.

After i finished eating, a voice over the loud speaker announced: "Time to go back to your rooms, it's 10:00 PM. I repeat, all students, to their rooms immediately."

That's what we did. Sam and Maddie were roommates, Taylor was roommates with another girl, and me and Cassie started heading off to our room, G23.

"Wait," i started, before all of us split off, "Sam, were David's injuries fatal?"

She grinned. "Nearly."

On that note, we all took off to our our rooms, and once me and Cassie opened the door, our mouths dropped open in shock, surprise and terror.
