The next couple weeks passed in a blur of confusion and uncertainty. I could tell Hannah wasn't completely comfortable with the thought of Aileen being around. Hell, she barely kissed me.

But, we were slowly adjusting to it. Realizing there wasn't anything we could do about it except wait. I mean, it's not like Aileen would be here forever...

Hannah and I sat on the couch in her apartment, watching TV.

I noticed her eyes quickly scanning the room every few minutes or so.

"Hannah, are you ok?" I asked, taking her hand in mine.

She looked over at me. "Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"

I let out a small sigh as I stood. "Aileen, if you're here, show yourself."

We waited for a second before Aileen suddenly appeared next to Hannah on the couch.

Hannah let out a yelp as she stood.

I shook my head. "C'mon, Aileen, you don't have to watch us 24/7."

Aileen shrugged. "What else am I supposed to do?"

"I don't know, go out? Enjoy yourself, see a movie, grab a drink, something."

She stood, rubbing the back of her neck. "I don't really know how to do that..."

"Do what?" Hannah asked.

Aileen averted our gazes. "Enjoy myself..."

I sat down on the couch, inviting Aileen to do the same. "Well, what did you used to enjoy? Before the whole angel thing?"

She let out a long breath, nervously playing with her fingernails. "I'm not sure anymore... It's been so long."

Hannah sat down as well. "Maybe you could go find it again, the thing that makes you happy."

I nodded my agreement. "Yeah, as a matter of fact, I'm giving you the day off to explore yourself."

Aileen raised an eyebrow. "Explore myself?"

I stood, leading her up with me. "Yeah, discover who you used to be."

She looked between the two of us. "You're both serious?"

We nodded quickly.

She sighed. "Fine, I'll give you guys some privacy and go discover myself."

We chuckled at her sarcasm.

"You have fun with that and I'll see you later. At home. Much later." I said.

She rolled her eyes. "I get the point."

Then, she snapped her fingers and disappeared.

Hannah and I waited a second before sitting back down.

"I kinda feel bad for her." She said.

I wrapped my arm around her shoulder. "Me to."

"What do you think she's doing?"

I shrugged. "Beats me..."

I wandered through a nearby park, watching all the people laughing and talking.

I felt out of place here, like I didn't belong. I've been a guardian angel for longer than I can remember. It's my life, it brings me joy and happiness. Maybe that's part of the problem, I don't remember much about my previous life. Almost like it didn't exist anymore...
