It's been a few hours in the van. The scenery was slowly changing from urban to rural. It was March and the cherry blossoms that lined the roads and scattered across the distant fields and mountains, were beginning to bud. However the plum trees were in full bloom and it's white flowers could be seen from a distance.
(Y/n) always liked the trip between rural and urban towns. It was a sense of nostalgia that she loved. The feeling in the air getting cleaner, the sound of cars, busy streets and people getting quieter. She loved it.
"Hey, what's with that smile?" Nobara says, who was sitting beside her.
"Hm?" She turns away from the window and looks at Nobara.
Was I smiling? Really?
"I don't know, I just find the scenery really pretty." Nobara, with her phone in her hand, had a look of boredom and disgust.
"Really? Shouldn't you be use to this? I know I am." She looks back down at her phone and continues to scroll through it. (Y/n) takes another look out the window.
"I mean...I am, but looking out at that. It gives me a sense of nostalgia." She turns back to Nobara who was also looking out the window.
"You're from the country too right? Don't you feel a sense of home from that?" Nobara's eyes stare cold at (y/n) then sighs.
"I guess, but it's not a nice nostalgia I'm getting." (Y/n)s eyes widen a little at her response.
"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't mea-"
"It's fiiine. Everyone's childhood is different, don't make such a big huff about it. They're just trees." She closes her phone and leans forward, grabbing the seat head in front of her where Itadori is sitting.
"What I really want to know is, how long are we going to be sitting in this stinking van! My legs hurt from sitting down!" The driver looks in his rear view mirror with a small sweat. He nervously looks at Gojo who has been chatting away the whole time in the front seat.
"Aghh!" Nobara groans when she doesn't get an answer.
It shouldn't be too long right? We've been driving for hours now.
After a few more minutes the van turns down a narrow road which makes the students sit up from their seats.
"Are we here?" Itadori says looking out at the small town houses we pass.
"Almost..." Gojo says.
(Y/n) looks out the same window Itadori was and realised the area was abandoned.
"This place. Is it abandoned Gojo Sensei?" (Y/n) looks over at him in the front seat. He nods his head before speaking.
"They're ripping this place up to put a main road in for the new resort." He looks around the area as they slowly drive through it.
They're going to rip up homes just to put a stupid road in! If I found out someone asked my parents to move out of their home to build a road, I would be furious too!
"So many memories." Itadori whispers, barely reaching anyone's ears, except for (y/n) who was right behind him.
Memories? Does he mean the memories this place holds for the people who lived in these houses?
While (y/n) and Itadori are lost in their thoughts Gojo claps his hands together and the car stop.
"Alrighty, the sun seems to be going down, they should start appearing soon." Gojo opened his door and stretches his legs out.
"They? As in more then one?" Itadori looks over at Gojo who was now out of the van and stretching his arms out in front of him.
"Itadori...you're telling me a whole village is gonna manifest a singular curse." Gojo smiles as he watches Itadori mumble to himself as he crawls out the van.
