Chapter 9: gossip and right hooks

Melody's POV

I was walking to my locker when Santana walked up to me, Mercedes, Tina and Kurt behind her. This can't be good.

"Okay, what the hell is going on with you and wanna be Elvis?" Santana asked as I looked at her.

"Sebastian" Kurt filled me in as I looked sheepishly.

"Nothing. He took me out for lunch, we talked and that's it" I said as Mercedes just rolled her eyes. I shut my locker and tried to walk away only to have Kurt pull me back by my wrist.

"You can't run away, I know for a god damn fact that something happened. Because you came home with a glow, and I mean after sex glow" he said as I blushed red. This is so mortifying as my older brother is talking to me about sex. I quickly as can be grabbed their arms and bring them into an empty classroom.

"Say it louder and maybe Jacob will come flashing in" I said as they just grin at me. I groan loudly and just lean on the chalkboard.

"You want the tea? Okay then here it is. Bash and I went on a nice little picnic with him at some beach that didn't seem inhabited and we watched the sunset go down. He apologized for his behavior and asked for me to wait for him. To which I of course said I can't stand by and watch him degrade my friends. I got up to leave but he pulled me down by my wrist and I fell on top of him, to which led to certain things." I said as they all looked ready to ask things. But I put my finger up and cut them off before they can even say anything.

"No I'm not pregnant and yes we used protection and no I'm not going to tell you how big he is" I said the last one towards Tina as I already know her little curious brain.

"So we are battling them, and you are basically becoming a modern Romeo and Juliet. Don't drink anything" Santana chided in as I glared at her.

"No one is anything. I'm here to finish my year and then I'm leaving to continue my career, maybe take some of y'all with me" I said as Mercedes smiled widely. The bell rang and I walked out with them to my class that was Glee club. I walk into see Rachel talking to Finn. But once I walked in she glared at me.

"What's up your ass Berry?" I asked as she looked at me and flipped her dry as hay hair. Has she ever heard of conditioner?

"I think your brothers would find it interesting as the rest of the club to know that you are fraternizing with the enemy" she said as everyone looked at me. Britney held Santana back from slapping the shit out of this troll.

"I'm sorry, since when did my love life become your life. Are you that bored?" I asked as she looked annoyed and pushed me back. I barely moved despite me being smaller than her.

"Rachel?!" Finn said as he went to pull Rachel back.

"And talk about hypocrisy, didn't you date Jesse St. James who was part of vocal adrenaline? Yeah. Cheated on him with my brother, and Noah! Yeah. So shut up before I do it for you" I said as I pushed her with my shoulder as I went to sit down. She just gasped at me and looked at Finn who just looked away. I know for a fact that he is still upset that she did that shit.

"Okay everyone today we are goin-" I tuned out what Mr. Schu said as I just thought about my songs. I was a bit behind on writing and I know I have to perform at the awards.

"Melody?" I looked back up to see Mr. Shu look at me with concerns.

"I'm sorry, I didn't sleep much. Studying" I said as he nodded and patted my shoulder.

"Look I just want to talk about the solos for our next competition. I was thinking Rachel and Finn to sing the leads-" I raised my hand and looked at him annoyed.

"Yes, Melody?" He asked as I nodded and stood up.

"Did we all vote for Hobbit and my brother to sing?" I asked as he looked around and the back to me.

"No offense, Finnegan" I said as he shrugged taken no offense.

"No. I chose them as they are best to sing this song" Mr. Schu said as I scoffed.

"This so completely biased Mr. Schu. I think that they are always picked. No offense to my brother but we are here to sing not be back up vocal to Little Miss Grandma" I said as I pointed to Berry. She always wore old lady clothes. She looked offended at me as I ignored her.

"Melody, I chose them because they are the best for us to win" he said as I rolled my eyes.

"I understand that but we are here too. Or are you becoming just like your little teacher's pet?" I said as I moved my hand to the others. Berry gets up and looked me in the eye.

"And I'm guessing you want to be the lead?" She said in her snobby voice. I just laughed and everyone looked at me weirdly.

"No. I know I'm good but for this song and this lead for nationals. I think the best to sing the solo would be Mercedes and Santana. Their vocals overlapping would be perfect" I said as she looked astonished at me. I looked to Mr. Schu who looked like he was thinking about it. Berry saw it too and freaked out.

"No. I am the best singer here. I'm the one who got us into and so I deserve the lead" she said as she looked at me with anger.

"Aw is the baby getting upset that she isn't getting what she wants?" I said in a baby voice as Santana laughed as well as Tina and Mike.

"Look I will think about it but please. Girls. Sit down before one of you hurt each other" Mr. Schu said as I nodded, happy that I got my point across and in the process annoy Berry.

"You are my everything" Santana whispered as I high fived her as we watched Berry get upset as Finn asked if he could dance background instead.

"No we are the 'it' couple" she whined as I rolled my eyes once more.
