It was almost nightfall, and the cawing of a crow could be heard in the distance. We wanted to return to the village, and bid farewell to Hiyori, but was stopped by a young boy with pale skin and bright lavender purple eyes. He had short hair that was neatly styled and vertically shaded from a dull green to black. Wearing a button-up shirt under an all-white kimono and dark blue pants, he approached us.
"Um, are you waiting for me?" I awkwardly pointed to myself, looking left and right, verifying if my statement was correct.
Rui eyed him menacingly.
"Be on guard, he's a demon too," he stated, making sure the man wasn't carrying any weapons or suspicious objects.
"Good evening, my name is Yushiro Yamamoto. I've been instructed to take you to the place where Miss Hiyori is staying in. Miss Shinobu gifted me with the task of letting you meet with my Master. She is in a place that is cast with a 'Blindfold' spell. Follow me, and I'll lead the way, " he said, closing his eyes and bowing politely.
"Do we... follow him?" Rui whispered.
"Well, I guess... He did mention Miss Shinobu's name after all," I replied, cupping my hand against my mouth.
When we turned around, he was gone, and in front of us was a dead end.
"...What..." I stood, speechless. I looked up into the sky, down to the ground, to the left and right.
"I'm here," his face popped out of a seemingly solid wall.
"What the f-"
"Get in," he pulled us in my grabbing both of our collars harshly, dragging us into the other side of the wall.
On the other side of the wall was a small mansion, made out of wood and painted white. He brought us to the front of the fancy-looking and expensive door, and said:
"Heads up, don't be rude when you meet my master. I don't care if you're alive or dead, but she instructed me to take you along with me, so you better behave," he glared as me as he moved forward, getting uncomfortably close to our faces.
"Alright, alright. I get it," I put my hands up in defence.
Him nodding in approval, he opened the door and we took off our shoes, entering the chic household.
Knock, knock.
"You may come in," a feminine but mature voice spoke.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Saki, and this is Rui," I bowed, pushing Rui's head down along as well.
The lady was wearing a nurse's coat on top of her flower-patterned kimono, and her hair was tied into a bun, and fastened with a pretty floral pin. Her complexion was smooth and pale, and her eyes were a light gradient of pastel purple, adding contrast to her beautiful pink lipstick.
She was peacefully sitting on a chair next to the hospital bed that Hiyori was resting on.
"Good to see you this evening," she greeted back.
"Hey, she's a demon too," Rui whispered secretly and I nodded slightly.
"If I may ask, how is the lady doing?" I asked as politely as I could, as when I talked to her, I had a strange obligation to be as proper as possible.
"She's fine now," she turned to the girl. "But I worry about her wounds getting infected in the future,"
Bandaging Hiyori's arm, she carefully and meticulously wrapped each fold around the wound.
"You're... treating humans... Isn't that hard for you?" I asked, genuinely curious.
Almost receiving a punch from Yushiro, he asked with a piercing glare, "Are you saying that we demons crave for flesh and blood as we treat human beings?"
