"Rui!" I screamed, my arms stretching towards him desperately, reopening my wound.

"Hm?" The lady looked surprised, but kept her calm composure. Her blade was an inch before his face.

"Why would you..." Rui trembled, noticing the ugly wound that was pouring out blood.

She seemed to stare at us for a moment, seemingly deciding something, before she wiped the blood off her blade and kept it.

"Come to the Butterfly Mansion, that is, if you don't want to die,"

Rui glared at her, "Don't mess with me! Saki is almost dead!" He yelled.

Without a word, she took out a little bottle from her pocket and sat down next to me. Rui looked at her suspiciously, but let her continue.

"I have immense skill and mastery over medical and pharmaceutical fields to make up for my lack of natural-born combat ability." She started.

"This is a lack of natural-born combat ability?" Rui sighed.

"Thus, I'm highly knowledgeable about how to create various poisons and venoms using Wisteria flowers to kill demons like you, and how to make remedies for my fellow comrades," she undressed me and opened the bottle. She poured the liquid directly onto my wound and within seconds, the bleeding stopped and the pain subsided.

"T-Thank you...?" I looked at her.

She was a petite girl with pale skin and large, compound-looking eyes that did not possess pupils, only a haze of gradient purple, which made her eyes appear similar to those of bugs. Her shoulder-length wavy hair that faded from black into dark purple, was fastened with a white and purple butterfly ornament. She was undoubtedly beautiful.

"I am Shinobu Kocho, a member of the Demon Slayer Corps. Or, otherwise known as the Insect Pillar." She started.

"The Butterfly Mansion is where I live, as do my acquaintances and apprentices. If you decide to come, we can teach you different breathing forms and techniques, to which you decide which one suits you best. I believe you know who turned this boy into a demon?" She asked me.

I nodded firmly, immediately knowing the answer.

"Anyway, why do you want to help us? Won't you get into trouble if they find out you're working with a demon?" I questioned, still skeptical. Who could blame me?

"Don't worry about that, just come! My Master is a very kind man, so it'll be fine. Let's get you two some place to rest, then we can talk. The mansion isn't far from here, so let's go there," she began jumping from tree to tree.

"Should we... follow her?" Rui asked.

"Well, what else are we supposed to do?" I stared into his eyes, smiling.

Just as I was about to follow her, Rui carried me into his arms and said, "You barely recovered. If you run, you'll reopen your wound,"

"Thank you, Rui," I smiled and leaned against his chest.

His speed was almost superhuman. As I felt the breeze flow through my hair, I sighed and closed my eyes.

After a moment of silence, I said, "Let's go back tomorrow morning to give Mom and Dad a proper burial."

He looked at me solemnly and nodded.

The moon looked beautiful tonight. It was a perfect circle that illuminated the night sky. As I reached out my hand to touch it, Shinobu said, "There it is, the Butterfly Mansion— our new home."
