Bella: “I’m sorry did I hear that correctly? You said they found a witness?”
Mrs Johnson’s: “It appears so…that we do have one. Our neighbour, Miss Mary.”
Mr Johnson: “Oh Miss Mary. She saw what happened to our Maria. Though why didn’t she say anything?”
Mrs Johnsons: “She has yet to give her statement. Apparently, before, she was in the hospital for some reason. Anyways we will find out soon. They said they would contact us and let us know if they found anything.”
Mom: “Oh well that’s good news. Then at least we get to know what had happened that day. And I’m sure Maria will also heal soon. Everything will be okay.”
Mrs Johnson: “Though we are really grateful to you, for all you did for us. It really meant a lot to us.”
Mom: “Oh come on now. You did the same thing for us when we were in our darkest times. All of us will stick around and help you as much as possible. Don’t hesitate to ask anything you need, okay?”
Mr Johnson: “Thank you….Brittany. Really.”
Mom: “It’s my absolute pleasure. Now everyone eat up and then we will be off to the hospital. You need your strength.”
All this made me realise that mothers are such strong women. They endure so much pain. She is my mother, trying to care of us and as well supporting another family who needs her. All while putting a smile on her face and making it seem it’s all easy. If I were in her shoes, I wouldn’t be able to pull this off. I really wish she’d talk to me about things sometimes. For things that I can help her in, I try my best to achieve as much as I can, to reduce the burden on her shoulders.
I was glad that everyone ate at least something before leaving. I can understand their daughter who is in coma and they wanted her back. And wanted to know what had happened on that very day.
It got me wondering about the witness. Why hadn’t she come to us sooner? Miss Mary, I’m not suspecting her or anything. It just made me curious as to why hadn’t she come before. Mr. Johnson said she was at the hospital. I wonder what had happened to her. At least one part of this is solved. Now to know whether Maria will be alright or not.
As we were going to the hospital, everyone seemed kind of nervous and scared. Everyone was just hoping that something good would happen. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were discussing the details about their doctor. So far, nothing much had changed.
I had to get home to meet Susan and Stacy so I had told everyone goodbye, but Isla said she wanted to stay with mother and she agreed so that was all settled. The drive back home, I couldn’t help but be impatient about the whole thing. I needed and wanted to know super badly what had happened that day. What concerned me the most was that, what if it was a person behind this? Doing that would be so wicked. If it were someone who is behind all of this, whose bones should I break for doing this? Because I won’t let that person live for doing something like this.
I was so caught up in my thoughts I didn’t realise I had reached home. And so I looked at the time and saw that there was half an hour till both of them come over so I cleaned a little of what was left and arranged everything. The only thing left now was for them to come over. I was thinking about this whole situation. About how I wasn’t getting anywhere with finding my father. A messed was caused by this dude with a black hoodie following us the whole time and that’s all I know. Where am I going with all of this?
Time passed and it was only a few minutes left till they would arrive and I heard the doorbell ring. I rushed downstairs to go and get it. It was Susan who arrived. Now only Stacy was left.
Susan: “Hiii Bella. What’s up? How’s everything going?”
Bella: “Hiii Susan. All is good and everything is going just fine. What about you?”
Susan: “Everything is fine here as well. Oh is Stacy here yet?”
Bella: “I’m not sure. Let’s call her right now.”
Susan: “Yup, sure. Let’s do that.”
Her phone just kept going on “ringing” and we thought that maybe she was just on the way or that her phone was on silent in her bag so she couldn’t know. We headed upstairs and started discussing some things about what and how we would capture him. Time just went on and on but Stacy wasn’t answering her phone for some reason. So we thought of calling her parents. Maybe they would know where she was. At this point I was worried sick and Susan was panicking. I had a bad feeling about this. When we called her parents they said that they were searching and calling for her as well.
Susan: “Bella, this getting out of hand. No one knows where she is or how to contact her.”
Bella: “I know …..I’m not sure what to do about this. For now, her parents have tried searching for her. But we can’t file a report yet because it hasn’t been 48 hours. They have told the police though.”
Susan: “I just hope she’s alright and that there isn’t anything to worry about.”
Bella: “Well I’m not sure about this. It’s been 2 hours since she’s been missing and still nothing. I will call mom and let her know about this. Because if she finds out later, it would upset her of why I didn’t let her know sooner.”
Susan: “Alright, you do that and I will let my parents know about this as well.”
Bella: “Okay sure.”
I was dialling mom on the phone and was shaking on fear because what if someone kidnapped Stacy. I know it was crazy, and quite far-fetched, but it’s not like it was impossible. We had someone stalking us and that “someone” I could think of was……the person in the black hoodie.
