While I was ringing mom on the phone, it hit me in my mind that what if it was the person in the black hoodie that took Stacy? And the reason I’m saying this is because she only got kidnapped after he showed up in our lives. I mean, it’s true someone else could have done it. The world isn’t a safe place today. But all these things started happening because we went to the crash site and I couldn’t help but think it was my fault that it happened. I blame myself, and now all I could think of, was she safe, or not?

Mom: “Hello Bella?”

Bella: “Oh….umm hi mom. We have a problem…”

Mom: “Is everything alright dear?”

Bella: “Mom……..”

I had to stay strong. I kept telling my mind that. And even though I did everything to keep myself from not expressing my pain, I just started crying my heart out.

Mom: “Bella are you alright?! What’s going on?!”

Bella: “Mom- Its Stacy- she went- missing- and we can’t find her-“

Mom: “Take deep breathes Bella. It’s going to be okay. Remember what your father used to say.”

I did as she told me to and managed to calm down a bit. Then, explained everything to her.

Mom: “Okay I’m coming over to you right now.”

Bella: “Mom, there isn’t any need to okay? We’ll all be fine-“

Mom: “No Bella, I’m sure Stacy’s parents are worried sick about her daughter. I’ll go to them and help as much as possible. I’ll come to meet you to comfort you as well. I can’t leave you during difficult times, my daughter.”

Bella: “Thank you…so much mom. Really and I’m sorry for this-“

Mom: “No need to thank me and why you are sorry child? It’s not your fault. Now wait for me I’m coming and don’t worry. The police will be able to track her down.”

Bella: “Okay mom…bye.”

I felt guilt conjuring me up it was as if it was about to eat me alive. I couldn’t stop blaming myself but my mother’s words were so comforting. I thought to myself, “I’m so blessed to have a mother like that”. But wait, she said the police will be able to track them down so that would be-

Bella: “Susan!!!! Susan!!”

Susan: “Bella what’s wrong?!”

I took her hand and ran with her upstairs quickly. My mind had only derived towards one thing.

Susan: “I’m going to assume you figured something out?”

Bella: “Yes!! So when I called mother, she said that the police would be able to track her, okay?”

Susan: “Okay….but you lost me girl. Why does that make you so happy?”

Bella: “Because do you remember, after I got lost in 10th grade for the field trip, afterward, we decided that in case of emergencies, we’d make a GPS tracker. I mean, it did take us a lot of time but do you think that could work?”

Susan: “Oh my god Bella, you’re a genius!!!!! Do we still have it working?”

Bella: “It’s worth a shot. Let me get the phone and see if it functions.”

That was our only hope for us to find Stacy. We were afraid it wouldn’t work. Then came the moment of truth. We waited for a few minutes and I say it felt like time was playing a joke on us. Looking at the clock, seeing the minutes go by us. Then there it was. The phone gave us her location!

Bella: “Susan-“

Susan: “So it worked!!!! Oh my god!!! Thank goodness, now we can go and find her.”

Bella: “Yes we can. There is only one problem, though. This location seems weird though.”

Susan: “What do you mean?”

Bella: “The location says she’s at the café that was closed a few months ago. Weren’t they constructing something new over there?”

Susan: “Yeah but why would she be over there unless she actually did get-“

Bella: “I think you might be right Susan. Which is why we have to go there before something else happens.”

Susan: “Yeah let’s go. But I think it’s better we don’t go alone this time. We might need backup don’t you think?”

Bella: “Not going to lie, yes we will. So let’s go tell everyone about it.”

After taking a few supplies like rope and some scissors, we got ready to go. You might be asking, “Why?” Well mainly because I don’t want to go unprepared. I headed downstairs with Susan and my heart was racing with fear. Sure, we found out where she was but we didn’t know what was going on over there and that’s what’s frightening. Mom came a little while later and then I told her everything.
Aunt Brittany: “Sometimes, you kids surprise me.”

Uncle Flynn: “Well I’ll say this could actually work.”

Mom: “It’s a good thing that you did that my child, but-“

Bella: “Mom, right now there isn’t much time. We have to go right now, she must be in danger.”

Mom: “Alright. Let me call Stacy’s parents and let them know.”

Mom, Susan, Uncle Flynn, and I all hopped in the car and went to where the GPS tracker had marked the location for us. I was sure Stacy’s parents must be having a lot of questions that we didn’t have the time to answer. Susan was holding my hand the whole time and that made me feel a little better. Though I was restless through it, I just wish we could teleport to save time. After a few minutes of driving, we reached the location.

We couldn’t just exactly barge in because we didn’t know who was inside if there even was anyone else there. So Uncle Flynn stayed outside with the car and Mother told us to stay there with him. But I just couldn’t stay and followed her slowly at the back. Susan told me not to go but she came with me because she wouldn’t let me do this alone and also because I’m clumsy too. After heading on inside, I could see the place looked dark and gloomy. There wasn’t really anyone there. We kept on whispering her name but didn’t find her until we headed on and I just couldn’t believe it.
