Chapter 21

Bella: “I don’t know what’s going on right now?!”

Stay: “Bella calm down, first do that. Breathe.”

Bella: “My dear and wonderful friends, to tell you the truth, now that I’m seeing this, I just can’t understand-“

I was cut off by what I had to say when I heard my phone rang and it was my cousin Iris.

Bella: “Hi Iris. Is everything okay?”

Iris: “Help me, Bella!!! I’m being followed by someone and it seemed to me I’m going to be taken hostage.”

Bella: “Whoa, whoa, okay calm down and tell me exactly where you are.”

Iris: “At the café where Stacy was taken and please come alone.”
Before I could say anything, the call cut off, and I was surprised by this. What’s going on all of a sudden?

Stacy: “What happened? Is everything alright?”

Bella: It’s Iris. She said she needed help and said to come alone.”

Susan: “Well after what happened to Stacy, we aren’t letting you do that missy so no way!”

Stacy: “She’s about right about that. So we are coming with you. Let’s go without wasting any more time.”

Bella: “Okay then let’s go…..”

We took a taxi to go over to the café because it would be risky to take the parents and to explain everything. I didn’t want that. Also because Iris said to come alone but I came with Susan and Stacy.

I didn’t know what to expect there. As far as I could remember, she was telling me that she was being followed. Could it be the person in the black hoodie? When would I be able to catch this person and get some answers? I just sighed at all these thoughts and got out of the car when we had arrived.

I headed on in. I started to mentally and physically prepare myself if something was going to happen and told the girls to do the same thing. As we were going inside, we heard her scream my name and dashed to where our ears picked up the sound. Only to see a person dressed all in black wearing a hoodie.

Bella: “So you have finally shown yourself. We knew that you were following us this whole time. I’m also assuming you know something about my father which is why you there at the crash site.”

Stacy: “Look just tell us, what do you want?“

Susan: “You even followed me and I just don’t understand.”

Bella: “So who are you really? And where is Iris?”

?: “I’m sorry I had no choice but to do this…..”

As the person turned around, my eyes widened in shock and my mind went blank. Wait so the person in the black hoodie is….

Iris: “It’s me your cousin………I brought you all here.”

Bella: “But why?! What are you-“

Iris: “I’ll tell you everything Bella. Just please trust me. I was doing it for your own good.”

Susan: “Why did you call us here of all places? Why couldn’t we talk at a proper café or something?”

Iris: “I’ll tell you one by one. Look, Bella our family isn’t what you think it is-“

Bella: “So it’s true…..that it would be Uncle Flynn. He is the one that kidnapped Stacy….”

Iris: “How?! How did you figure that out?!”

Bella: “I analyzed what Stacy told me. People who I knew that would have a mole on their hand. And there are only 2 people who would have that. My father and Uncle Flynn. But there was another thing she told me that triggered me. His damn cologne he cherishes. That one specific cologne that dad gave to him.”

Iris: “Yes…..that was him……”

Bella: “Cousin, how did you know about this?”

Iris: “Well…..Bella…..I- have no way of saying this but your father….told me….”

Bella: “WHAT?! What are you talking about Iris?!”

Iris: “Listen to me very closely. I was able to find out this a little over a few months ago. You see, Uncle Flynn isn’t the only one in on this…………my dad is in on it too. So when he was on a phone call with someone once, it didn’t seem to me like a normal conversation. So I overheard it a little and they were talking about your father. I was confused as to why they were. And then he said that we have to get you and Isla.”

Bella: “Me and Isla okay. What for exactly?”

Iris: “See as far as I know it’s to……kill you and-“

I just dropped to the floor. I couldn’t believe any of what she was saying to me. I just didn’t want to hear more but also had to. The family I knew for a long time and was my everything, turned out to be my enemies.

Iris: “Bella!! Please calm down. I know I don’t have the right to say but please listen that I didn’t tell you-“

Bella: “My lovely cousin that’s not why- look, I don’t even know why they did and I just found out that my father whom I didn’t see for 10 years, is suddenly alive. Tell me what we did so wrong that they wanted to kill us.”

Iris: “I’m not sure what my father and uncle’s motives are but……I don’t even know if I have the right to stand in front of you after what my father did to you. I don’t think saying sorry is-“

I hugged Iris because it really wasn’t her fault. Although now, I’m questioning who to trust.

Iris: “I will try my level best to show you how loyal I am and I’m not like them.”

Bella: “Just please don’t blame yourself for everything please hmm?”
Iris: “I’ll try……also do you feel at least 0.1% better?”

Bella: “Yes I do. Please tell me the rest….”

Iris: “Alright so the reason, I’m not sure yet why they want you and Isla. You see, I found all about it in much further detail when your father contacted me.”

Bella: “How did you believe that it was actually him….?”

Iris: “So when my father would say he was going to a football match with his buddies, it was actually for going to see your father. Now hear me out, he told me this reason and even mentioned all the details about the family. Like he knows everything. I know you’re going to say that you shouldn’t trust someone, but it felt like it was really him. Also because father would sometimes talk about your father on the phone. So that confirms this, no? Also because I trust my gut’s feelings.”
