"hey, what are you doing here?"
"i'm picking you up. we're hanging out."
minseo furrowed her eyebrows as she walked down the steps of her high school to jaehyun's car.
"i don't remember agreeing to this but okay, also people are gonna think you're my dad this is so weird." minseo said, stepping into the passenger seat.
jaehyun went around and got into the drivers side, "wow, do i look that old? i'm only two years older than you."
he started the car and began driving, minseo not having any idea what his plans were for the day. in all honesty she just wanted to go home and nap but this wasn't so bad either. minseo hardly hung out with any of them alone, usually just eunha, johnny, and mark but for as long as she could remember they all did everything together.
jaehyun had eventually pulled up to a ice cream shop, which made minseo's eyes light up in a child like way.
"today is like, the perfect day for ice cream." minseo exclaimed. it was a very hot summer day in september, and upon wearing a school uniform, minseo spent all day in her long sleeve under a vest button-up.
the two got their ice cream and sat at a table to enjoy the sweet dessert in an air conditioned area.
"do you wanna go to the mall after this?" asked jaehyun.
minseo scrunched her nose, being uninterested in that thought. "i honestly just wanna nap dude."
"boring. we can go back to my place then."
"um, no, taeyong lives there too and i'm not trying to face him yet."
"actually, he won't be home until tonight so you don't have to worry about that. he's hardly been home ever since... you know."
"okay fine, but i'm napping on your couch." minseo said, licking the remaining mint chocolate ice cream off her spoon, causing jaehyun to chuckle at her.
once the pair finally finished they got back into jaehyun's car and drove back to his place. once inside minseo wasting no time getting comfortable, throwing her shoes aside and making way to the bathroom to change out of her school clothes since she always carried an extra change of clothes in her bag. she then met jaehyun on the living room couch as he looked for a netflix movie to watch.
"don't you have homework or something?" he asked.
"...so you're for real gonna act like my dad right now?"
jaehyun bursted out laughing and shook his head at the comment. "fine then, fail school." minseo shrugged and kicked her feet up on the table and laid back on the head of the couch to get comfortable.
they spent the rest of the night watching movies, playing games, and eating way more junk food than they probably should've been. minseo didn't realize how fun he was to be around, and jaehyun didn't realize how much he enjoyed spending time with her. even though they texted all the time in the groupchat, they never got much of a chance to really get to know each other. and after this day minseo made a promise to herself to hang out with everyone alone at least once.
minseo had fallen asleep for a little bit but woke up to find her head in jaehyun's lap while he was playing with her hair. it felt so nice she almost didn't want to get up from this position, but did anyways.
"what time is it?"
"uhh," he looked at the time on his phone, "seven."
already? i guess time flies when you're having fun.
"you're hair is so soft," said jaehyun, reaching up to take the few pieces of hair in front of her face and move it behind her ear. minseo's heart skipped a beat, their faces were inches apart.
what the actually fuck is going on?
jaehyun noticed her staring at his gorgeous face and dryly chuckled, resulting in her getting shy and looking away quickly.
"minseo," he called. she looked over again and this time he was looking straight at her lips. minseo was not thinking about anything in this moment except for how he was right there in front of her face.
how easy it would be to kiss him. both caught up in the moment, they leaned in and pressed their lips together. neither of them knew any better than what was happening at that moment, their minds were completely blank, just thinking about how nice it felt to kiss one another like this.
their lips moved and heads turned in sync, things were quickly heating up. his hand was on her face and hers was gripping the collar of his shirt, wanting more. they both forgot everything. in this very moment they were the only two on the planet.
but minseo realized what was going on and pulled away, both of them panting lightly.
"what? what's wrong?" jaehyun asked, confused.
minseo shook her head and put her hand in her forehead. "jaehyun, i... we can't—"
"no, no, i get it. fuck, i'm so sorry. i shouldn't have. i wasn't even thinking." he quickly apologized, feeling guilty.
"it's fine, i'm sorry i just panicked."
"minseo... if you don't want to, i understand. but i hope you know you don't have to stop just because of taeyong, or whoever. he has no claim over you whatsoever." jaehyun had a feeling this had something to do with his friend, so it felt right to say so.
"no, i know. it's just. i'm feeling a lot of things right now and, don't get me wrong i loved kissing you, i just need some time, you know?" minseo explained.
jaehyun smiled, "i know. i should've stopped it, i'm really so sorry."
"it's okay, it's my fault too."
"and i want you to know that you're a great person and friend, minseo. no matter what happens i'm always gonna be here for you."
