"this is perfect because he could just like, rip it off of you," eunha explained, referring to the pretty floral dress minseo was wearing.
minseos eyes went wide, "eunha i am not sleeping with him."
"whack."
minseo further examined herself in her mirror. she was wearing more makeup than usual, thanks to eunhas beauty skills, her hair was curled loosely, and she was indeed wearing a dress. she really hadn't been on a genuine date since lucas, so this was weird to her. even with him they never got dressed up and went out so this was new to minseo. good new, it was exciting.
all of a sudden they heard a car honk from outside. the two looked at each other, minseo with fear and eunha with excitement.
"he's here!" eunha squealed, "go, go, don't make him wait." she practically shoved her friend out of the bedroom door while minseo was still trying to accept the fact that a guy wanted to take her on a date.
she quickly slipped on a pair of sandals and took a deep breath, preparing herself.
"open the fucking door." eunha urged, feeling impatient. minseo jokingly glared at her but opened the door and saw jaehyun leaning on the hood of his car.
"oh my—" eunha started, but stopping herself.
"oh my is right." minseo agreed quietly so only eunha could hear. she wished her friend good luck and to stay safe and closed the door after she had fully walked outside.
"hey girl," jaehyun called out, a cocky smirk on his face. minseo couldn't help but grin seeing him look so confident, it was just so attractive.
"sup bro," minseo replied, jaehyun immediately laughing at such a typical response from her. they hugged each other and when she pulled away, he kept close to her.
"you look beautiful my guy," jaehyun beamed, mocking her with the 'my guy' but genuinely thinking she looks absolutely stunning.
minseo laughed loudly, finding him mocking her hilarious, "you don't look too bad either."
he opened the passenger side door for her, to which she climbed in and he got in on his side. minseo just kept thinking how she had no idea what a gentlemen he was.
during the drive jaehyun was either holding her hand, or left his hand on her thigh, first making sure it was okay with her of course. there was faint music playing in the background and they didn't talk much but it wasn't awkward at all, it was comfortable. it was a 20 minute drive and slowly minseo felt her nerves calming down.
as expected, they pulled up to a fancy looking restaurant. when they walked inside everything and everyone looked very expensive. minseo was starting to feel small but jaehyun seemed to remain confident.
"wow, this is.. i don't even know," minseo stated as they sat down in a booth across from each other.
"its nice, right?"
"oh yeah, you've been here before?"
"no, this is also my first time. not gonna lie i just found the fanciest looking restaurant i could find." he replied. minseo snorted inappropriately, earning weird looks from the old couple sitting close to them. after seeing the dirty look they got, jaehyun and minseo looked at each other and silently cracked up laughing.
the rest of the time they spent there was just like that, they chatted and laughed and eventually minseo felt comfortable enough to stop caring what the people around her felt about them. once they got the food they ordered and tried it they decided the place was completely overhyped and overpriced, so they paid and left to eat chicken wings in jaehyuns car.
"we should've just done this from the beginning," minseo exclaimed, cleaning her face with a napkin.
"true, but i was also trying to give you a good date."
"this is a good date. i like this a lot." minseo reassured, referring to them just sitting in his car eating wings.
jaehyun smiled at her admirably and when she looked away he was still looking at her. completely clueless, minseo proceeded to watch the sun go down and the pretty mix of colors surrounding it. easy to say this is the best night he has ever had.
when the night had come to an end, it was reaching 9pm so jaehyun decided it was time to bring her home. he politely walked her to her door and minseo knew what was going to happen next.
"so, do we kiss goodnight now like the movies?" she asked.
"i want to, if that's cool with you?"
"it is cool with me."
they kissed, and then they blushed like middle schoolers holding hands for the first time.
