Harper Payne

Beep beep. Beep beep. Beep beep.

I rolled over and frowned after hearing my alarm. I grabbed it from the sofa-arm not wanting to wake Mum up. I disabled it quickly. I realised I had three messages. One from Louis, one from Harry and one from... No, it couldn't be, he blocked me, remember? But this was real. I had a text from Niall. I read his first, of course.

Nialler: Is there something going on between you and Harry that I should know about?

I read it three times over surprised that the only reason he wanted to talk to me was about Harry.

Me: No, of course there isn't. Why would you think that?

I decided to wait patiently and not send him another message. I read Louis' message and it said,

Sass Master: Paul is in on the plan. He'll meet you outside the airport, then he'll take you to our hotel, put your things in our room and then bring you here. Is that ok?

I was kind of wary at first.

Me: Yeah, that's fine

He read my message and sent a thumbs up emoji. I flipped over to Harry's icon.

Harold: I'm sorry for what I did

Me: Don't apologise to me, apologise to Niall. You hurt him.

I replied. I got off the sofa and headed straight upstairs and put my phone on charge because it was only on 14%. I grabbed two suitcases and, unlike Liam, folded my clothes into my suitcases neatly. I managed to get everything, including my schoolwork, into my two suitcases because I had a very co-ordinated mind. I grabbed my backpack and put my bag of toiletries into it. I put my favourite blanket in there and then a pair of headphones and then an extra charger although I would also take the charger that was currently charging my phone.

It was now 8:30. I thought I was ready but I hadn't even gotten myself ready yet. I grabbed some really cute black ripped jeans and a white t-shirt that said 'sassy since birth' on it. I also grabbed Liam's jacket without thinking seeing as I had become attached to it. I laid them out on my bed and hopped into the shower. I dried my hair and then straightened it. I put my outfit on and checked the time. It was now 9am and I needed to be at the airport by quarter to ten.

I pulled my suitcases behind me and ran down the stairs where I could smell dinner being cooked. Once I got down the stairs and into the kitchen, I noticed that my Mum was cooking a full English breakfast for dinner. "I'll miss you, you know." Mum said. I nodded. "It's only nine months now and we're coming back here in two months!" I exclaimed. "What, all six of you?" She asked, wide-eyed. "If you don't mind." I replied rather embarrassed now. "Well, it's you who'll have to share your room with one of them." She explained. "That's okay with me." I assured.

"Okay, as long as you're sure." She checked. I nodded. "When will dinner be ready?" I asked. "Right about now!" She exclaimed happily as she started plating up food. My phone started ringing from upstairs. "Give me a sec, mum." I asked as I ran upstairs. It was Louis. I was worried. Did he have to call off plans last second? Had something gone wrong? Was my flight cancelled? Was the concert cancelled? I picked up. "Hi, are you-" I began. "I'M SO EXCITED!" He shouted. "Lou, I know I might be about ten hours away from where you are but I'm pretty sure my neighbours just heard you. But me too. I'm literally shaking in my seat. I can't sit still. I'll be so jetlagged though." I sighed. "That's okay babe, just come say hi and then while we're performing you can sleep."

"How long is the show?" I asked. "90 minutes give or take." He replied quickly. "Louis, I'm going to be on a plane by myself for ten hours." I whispered. "Ever been on a plane before?" He asked. "Um..." I began. "You've never been on a plane before and now you're coming by yourself?" He whisper-shouted at me. "Maybe..." I began. "What time will you get off the plane?" He asked. "Seven pm." I replied. "You're going to skype me the whole time." He instructed. "Louis, no I can't let you, you have soundcheck and-" I began. Louis liked interrupting me. "I don't care. I'll sit on the floor of the stage and have you in front of me the whole time." He demanded. "Louis-" I began again. "The whole time." I really wasn't going to win this one.

"What about when you have to get your hair done and when you have to get changed?" I asked quickly. "There's a camera off button you know." He asked. I sighed. "Harper, please. I don't want my best friend being nervous. I'll distract you." He said. I sighed, yet again. "Do you need an inhaler?" He asked sarcastically. I giggled. "Fine but Lou, promise me something." I asked. "Yeah, sure babe, anything." He replied. "Promise you'll stay on the phone the whole time until I get into the airport safely?" I whispered, not wanting to sound weak. "Of course, bubs. I knew you'd need me. You don't have to act so tough." He answered, I could hear that warm smile in his voice.

"Thanks, Lou. Anyway, got to go. Dinners ready and then I'm leaving for the airport." I said. "Ok, phone me as soon as you're on the plane." He instructed. "Yes, yes." I cooed. "K, bye." I said as I hung up and raced back downstairs. Food was on the table and I dug in. Once I was finished, I helped mum put my luggage in the boot and then jumped into the car preparing for the long flight ahead of me.

We got to the airport and mum was getting teary-eyed. "Mum, you're only making this harder." I whispered as I sat on the seat (a/n, I still don't know a thing about airports) that was outside my gate. She swiped at her cheeks. "I know, I'm sorry." She smiled and I smiled back. "Now, Harp. Look after your brother and his friends. I expect you to be the responsible one." She giggled. I smiled warmly as she took my hand, both of us awaiting for my flight to be called. (a/n, guys I literally know absolutely nothing. I'm just going by what has been said in other fanfics ok...)

After about ten minutes of sitting in silence, my flight was called. I jumped up and squeezed my mum tight. "I'll miss you, mum. Love you." I whispered. "I'll miss you too. Also, I love you too." She smiled as I grabbed my luggage and waved one last time before making my way to the luggage compartment, a few tears found their way down my cheeks but I was quick to forget about them once I'd wiped them away. I sat on the plane and strapped myself in before finding Louis' contact on skype.
