Harper Payne

I felt a light tap on my shoulder. "Harper," A voice mumbled. "Harper. Harper! Get up!" Louis screamed. "Oh my god, Louis! I nearly had a heart attack!" I stated as I put my hand on my heart. "Sorry babes. Get up or your breakfast will go cold." He instructed. "Five more minutes." I mumbled as I pulled the covers over my head. He didn't say anything, just pull the covers back and raise his eyebrows at me. I rolled over, ignoring him. He didn't even give warning before picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder. "Louis!" I shouted in pain. "You shoulda gotten up when I said!" He exclaimed teasingly as we walked through the bedrooms and into the 'hallway' to the living room. "No! Ow! Louis!" I screamed, making him stop. He put me down and I immediately plopped down on the floor, leaning against the wall, clutching my rib.

The medication from last night had worn out and I hadn't realised until Louis had to pull a stunt. "Oh shit! Harper, I'm so sor-" He began. "I don't care! You're forgiven, whatever! Please just get me my medicine." I breathed out quickly. He rushed off quickly while I squeezed my eyes shut. "Harp? What're you doing on the floor love?" Zayn asked as he came out of the bedroom. "Louis picked me up and my rib hit his shoulder but I've not had my medicine yet so like, it hurts really bad." I explained quietly as I waited for the pain to stop. "I'll freaking kill him." Zayn growled. "Zayn! W-wait, can you sit with me?" I asked as he began to storm into the living room/dining room/kitchen area. His features softened as he sat down besides me. "I'm sorry he was such a div, he probably wasn't thinking." Zayn apologised and he took my hand in a friendly manner.

Shortly after, Louis came rushing back over with my tablet and a bottle of water. He handed me them as he watched me take it eagerly. "Harp, I'm sorry. I really am." Louis apologised again. "It's ok, honest. I'm alright now. I'm hungry though, can we..." I trailed off as I stood up, feeling the medicine take action almost instantly. "Hug?" Louis offered. "Hm..." I trailed off, stroking my chin as if in thought. I smiled before hugging him loosely so not to cause more pain. We went into the dining room and saw Liam, Harry and Niall in a heated discussion. I put my hand on Niall's shoulder from behind. "What do you want, Lo- Oh, hi Harper." He smiled although his face was red with anger. "What's going on?" I asked as I pulled myself up and over the back of the booth, sitting in between Liam and Niall.

"Nothing, don't worry about it, k?" Niall asked. I eyed him suspiciously but started eating anyway. I could still hear Harry and Liam muttering things back and forth so I opened my mouth to speak but Niall interrupted me. Rude. "We're still on our way to our destination. It's taking a while to get there unfortunately. Anyway, we only stay at hotels occasionally and this is not one of those times so after the show, we'll come back here. Got it?" Niall asked. "Didn't you get the memo?" Louis joked as we all continued eating, Harry and Liam both silently angry. "What row are my seats?" I asked politely, making them all laugh except Zayn who looked at me with sympathy. "Shut up guys, she's not joking." Zayn explained. "You can sit at the side of the stage." Zayn continued as he looked over at me.

"Oh, cool." I smiled with my cheeks a deep shade of pink because they were laughing at me. "When will we, like, settle in one place?" I asked. "Well, we don't settle usually but when we do, even then it isn't long only, like, two months. But we only settle when we're doing loads of shows like in the same area or stopping in a specific area for interviews." Harry explained as I nodded along. Things didn't seem awkward between us like I'd expected. "And, when will that be?" I asked. "Uh, not sure yet. Management are keeping that bit away from us so we don't get our hopes up or something like that." Niall explained. "Hold on, what do you think you're doing Harper?" Liam asked suddenly. I looked at him in confusion as I furrowed my eyebrows and cut another piece off my bacon before sticking it in my mouth. "Aren't you supposed to be online in a few minutes?" He asked with raised eyebrows.

"For what?" I replied quickly as I swallowed my food. "School, obviously." He replied. All the boys turned to look at me with either faces of confusion or amusement. "Oh, shit, yeah!" I exclaimed as I grabbed the piece of bacon and held it between my teeth before jumping over the back of the booth and racing into the bedroom. "Language!" I heard Liam scream making me giggle. I rummaged through my suitcase quickly until I finally reached my laptop bag. I pulled it out of my suitcase and quickly opened the bag, pulling my laptop out and unlocking it as I rummaged through my suitcase for my exercise book. I finally grabbed my book and flung it onto one of the beds before grabbing a pen that was on the floor. I opened Google Classroom before joining my live lesson just in time.

"Miss Payne, you're late. Why?" Mr Smalls asked. I unmuted my microphone before beginning to speak. "I'm so sorry Mr Smalls." I muttered quietly. All of my classmates - who were in class - started laughing. "You asked if you could take a few months off school and the rules were that you could if you joined us through the internet. So, let's try that again shall we, Miss Payne? Why are you late?" Mr Smalls asked again harshly. "Well, as it happens, my brother is in a very popular boyband and his fans decided it would be best to attack me and they ended up breaking my rib. I was late this morning because I only just got back from the hospital yesterday and their advice was to rest but I went against that to join your lesson. Happy now?" I asked rudely as I lied partially. I was late because I forgot.

"I've heard a lot of excuses in my life but that is most definitely the most unique one ever." Mr Smalls laughed. "The truth or leave this lesson please." Mr Smalls continued. "Actually, Smalls, I googled it because I myself am a fan of her brother and that story is most definitely true." A voice came from the classroom. "My apologies, Miss Payne." Mr Smalls mumbled. "Can we just get on with the lesson?"
