"So I'm sitting there, barbecue sauce on my titties." Finn says out of the blue, making me burst out laughing.

"You need to stop quoting vines every time it gets silent in a room," Adam looks back from the front seat as I continue to laugh.

Finn is the type of person to want to make everyone laugh. If it's silent, he feels the need to say the weirdest thing to get people back to talking. Lately it's been quoting legendary vines.

"No, no! Please never stop!" I say trying to catch my breath. My heart warms as I hear Elias laugh from next to me.

"Yeah it was funny," Jeremy says with a soft smile, turning to me like he was looking for my approval.

"No one asked you Joshua," Elias says bitterly. My smile instantly fades and I quickly turn to Elias who's holding back a little smirk.

"Shut up." I say sternly and slap Elias in the chest with the back of my hand.

With quick reflexes, Elias grabs my hand and holds me still. "April, babe, don't hit me." Elias speaks in a low voice, with the same smirk playing on his lips.

The second I hear Elias call me "babe", my stomach feels like an amusement park. It flips over a thousand times and the butterflies in my stomach wake up from their nap.

"Edwards, never call my sister 'babe' again." Adam turns around in his seat and scolds at Elias. Elias lets out a small chuckle, even though he knows well enough that my brother is one hundred percent serious.

My eyes catch Lucas looking at me through the rearview mirror. Lucas is my best friend and has been my best friend since we were in diapers, I know what his look means.

This look screams "we'll talk later." I gulp down the resurfacing feeling of guilt and look away from my best friends harsh stare.

I pull my hand quickly away from Elias' firm grasp and push the butterflies in my stomach away. Telling them to go back to hibernation and never come out again.

"My boyfriends name is Jeremy. Not Joshua. Learn it cause he's going be around from now on." I say bitterly to Elias, but a part of me feels like I'm saying it for the sake of everyone else in the car.

I watch Elias roll his brown eyes at me and take out his phone from his pocket. I've noticed how Elias has been on his phone more frequently than he used to. Maybe that's due to him having friends on the other side of the Atlantic ocean, or maybe I've payed too much attention to Elias lately.

I turn around to Jeremy, with an apologetic smile on my face and softly grab his hand in mine. As I put my head on his shoulder, I close my eyes and enter a wishful world where my boyfriend isn't afraid to stand up for himself.

Maybe that's the biggest issue of having only guys as your friends. My expectations for my boyfriend needs to go with what I'm used to. I'm used to having my friends back me up, unafraid of confrontation, because they would rather hurt themselves than see me hurt.

That's what I grew up with and that is how I see love.

True love is when you would do anything to protect the people you love. No matter if it's a family member, your best friend or your soul mate.

With Jeremy, it's like he doesn't feel the need to protect us. Maybe that's called growing up and trusting your partner, but unfortunately that's the one thing that also irks me about our relationship.

The car comes to a stop and I hear Lucas turn the engine off.

"We're here," Lucas says excitedly and I quickly open my eyes.
