   Ink's p.o.v

I watched as the human ambled away, straightening the tote bag hanging from their shoulder. Their (h/c) shone brightly in the heat of the sun, and I frowned as they made their way into the trees, the shadows overtaking them.

It was an odd thing- after I fell out of the portal I decided the only thing to do at the moment was to sit down and think. What with my wounded arm and lack of knowledge, it'd be extremely stupid to go wandering around in some random AU. So I plopped down in the shade of the building and contemplated my next move until a rock flew out of nowhere and hit me in the side of the skull.

The next thing I knew, a human was running up to me with an anxious expression on their face, seemingly being the one who kicked the rock. Thing is, I don't think monsters are on the surface yet. But thanks to the sun's harsh ray, my identity was kept hidden. From the look on her face though, I could guess she caught sight my clothes.

Then the weirdest thing happened- the human gave me a dark blue water bottle, smiled, and walked away.

At this very moment, as I watched the human leave, I felt conflicted. This human was obviously kind-hearted, and I had nowhere to go. Maybe I could explain my situation a bit, ask them for a place to stay? Or would they freak out and run away? I should just leave them alone, really, but they were the first person I've encountered here.

I couldn't sit here forever anyway.

As my thoughts dwindled to making one decision, I realized the human was just about to disappear behind the treeline. I hesitated only a moment before I made my decision, taking a quick swig from the water-bottle.

   Your p.o.v

You'd been walking for a while now, and you could've sworn someone was following you. You know that feeling your being watched and all that creepy shit? Yeah, it felt a lot like that.

You were about home, travelling up your street as cars zoomed past. Luckily there was a sidewalk, as cracked as it was. Your mind kept returning to that person though- maybe you should've asked them if they were okay, or needed any help?

~At your house later cause I'm too lazy~

There it was, your humble home!

Sure, it had a couple leaks and the yard needed to be mowed but other than that, you would say it was a fairly nice house! The air conditioning worked like a charm, and it was otherwise cozy if not small. Not that it mattered- you lived alone anyway. You had a sister but you two hadn't been in touch recently.

You picked up your pace, making your way up the driveway that was never used, bouncing onto the front porch. You had a couple cushioned chairs sitting out here for when you wanted to just hang out, an open book you forgot to close resting on one of them. You never really got visitors other than Harley and your cousin Nix, who was recently travelling to the next state over.

Shaking these thoughts from your head, you reached for the door knob. Turning it, you quickly opened the door, sighing in relief as the cool air from inside washed over you. You stepped through the doorway, closing it behind you as you relished in the holy air conditioning. Slipping your sweater off, you threw it on the couch closest as goosebumps traveled up your arms from the sudden chill.

No more work for the day, thank god. Taking a deep breath, you pulled your phone from your back pocket as you set your tote back near the door, flinging yourself onto the couch. Normally, your feet would ache from walking so damn far but you've grown used to it. Harley would always bug you about it, insisting she could drive you home but of course you never let her.
