You yawned, stretching your arms above your head as you gracefully arched your back, letting thin strands of your messy hair fall from your face. Your bare feet padded against the carpet of the hall as you left your room, narrowing your eyes at the golden sunlight streaming into the living room from the curtained windows. The sound of birds chirping reached your ears, and you hummed softly as you stumbled into the living room.
You'd slept surprisingly well, considering having a skeleton in your house. Honestly, yesterday only felt like a bad dream. You expected the skeleton to have not been there at all, simply another figment of your overactive imagination. However, as you turned your head to gaze at the couch, your eyes rested on a relaxed sleeping figure curled up under the fluffy blankets.
Ink's skull rested lightly on the pillow you had lent him, his bones pale in the morning light. You could make out his arm resting beside his head, his eye sockets closed in his gentle sleep. It was odd to you, the inability to see those colorful eyelights peering mysteriously out at you. He looked so peaceful, and you found yourself relatively relieved that he had taken off most of the heavy clothed he had been wearing. Then again, you couldn't help but notice graceful, curved markings traveling up his arm bones, as if more ink had been trailed into him. This skeleton was such a mystery, and yet, there was a small part of you that felt as if you already knew him.
You snorted, shaking your head as you turned your gaze away.
What the hell were you thinking? This was a fucking skeleton that you met just yesterday. Well, he was your roommate now. You only hoped that things would work out with him staying here- all he needed to do was stay inside and avoid being seen, right? Yeah, it could be as easy as that.
You sighed, pulling your hair from your face as your gaze flickered quickly back to Ink. A small smile tugged at your lips as you gazed at him before you shook your head, turning around to wander into the kitchen. Harley had called you this morning, (waking you up from an amazing dream) to ask if you could come into the cafe today. Despite your wrist still killing you, you of course said yes. You just had to make your gallon of coffee and fish your uniform out of the dryer.
And, of course, deal with your new roommate. You didn't want to wake him up- he looked too peaceful... he'd probably been through a lot. Maybe you could just leave a note or something. You were sure he knew where you worked, considering when you saw him outside the cafe. That was a pretty big coincidence- some part of you didn't really believe that.
Sighing, you let your mind register the existence of a skeleton now living in your house as you prepared your coffee.
Ink's p.o.v
The sound of dull, clattering dishes gently tugged me from the peaceful abyss I had finally fallen into and I frowned, burying my face further into the bunches of fluffy blankets. It took my groggy mind a moment to shift through my memories and figure out where I was. Of course, I was still in the human's house.
Sighing, I forced myself to open my eye sockets, listening to the activity near by. A golden hue filled the living room, spilling from the thin red curtains along the windows and I found the scenery very peaceful. I was too comfortable to move, so I simply laid there in the mass of floofiness. The smell of coffee began to slowly fill the house.
Peering towards the kitchen, I could make out (Y/N)'s form leaning against the granite counter, her (h/c) hair a complete and wild mess as she pulled it from her face. A smile crept onto my face as she struggled with it before giving up, watching the coffee maker impatiently. It was odd to see her after thinking about her all night. She was wearing a plain nightshirt and some sleep shorts that showed off a reasonable amount of her legs, and I couldn't help but study her for a moment before shaking my thoughts awkwardly off.
