Fourteen

• Hailey's P.o.V •

"Chuck!" I screamed and grabbed his wrists.

Someone put their hands on my waist and I felt tugging. Everyone helped me try to get Chuck from the Griever and I noticed Alby. He grabbed a machete and started hitting the Griever's claw. Just as the Griever was about to sting Chuck it finally let go from Alby hitting it.

Chuck fell down on top of me as I fell back on everyone else.

"Chucky are you ok?" I hugged him tightly as my eyes teared up.

"Yeah yeah I'm ok." He hugged back.

We let go of each other and he got up then I got up off of everyone. They all stood up and we were taking deep breaths.

"Alby!" Newt suddenly screamed.

I whipped around seeing Thomas pulling at Alby screaming. My eyes went wide and my breath hitched in my throat.

"Thomas get them out." He said.

Thomas stopped and looked confused before Alby let go of him.

"No! Alby!" I screamed.

"Alby!" Thomas screamed.

"No!" Newt screamed.

I turned around and looked at Newt. His eyes grew red as they swelled up with tears. I frowned and we all began to climb out of the now destroyed council room. A group of kids came running this way and some stopped. Gally ran and threw me on the ground and I had a hard impact on my head.

"Gally!" Spencer shouted.

"You heard Alby! Her and Thomas were one of them! They sent them here to destroy everything and they did!" Gally tried moving past Newt and a whole bunch of others.

"Hey, can you hear me?" Spencer snapped her fingers.

"A bit blurry." I blinked and rolled my eyes.

"Teresa help me." Spencer grabbed one of my hands.

"But this might sting her." Teresa held up the stinger she hand.

"Thomas?" Spencer look at him.

He grabbed my other hand and they both got me up. I looked up at Thomas and he looked down at me.

"They're bad! You heard Alby say it!" Gally continued screaming.

I noticed Thomas went to grab something and I knitted my brows. The stinger.

"Maybe he's right." He said quietly.

"Tommy." I knitted my brows as I watched his every move.

"Thomas." Spencer said.

"I have to remember Hailey. I need to."

He stabbed his stomach and fell to the ground with a groan.

"TOMMY!" I screamed and fell beside him.

"Get the other syringe." Teresa said quickly.

"No no Thomas." I started crying.

"Hailey maybe you sh-"

"-NO! I'm not leaving!" I screamed.

Teresa put her hands up in surrender and someone came running back. They stabbed Thomas in the chest with the syringe and he seemed to calm the shaking. I lifted his shirt and saw the purple veins around the sting.

"Both of you are gettin' banished!" Gally pointed at Thomas and I. "Take 'em to the Pit! And anyone who wants to go with 'em be my shuck guest!"

Someone put their arms under mine and started dragging me somewhere. They picked up Thomas and followed as Newt, Spencer, Teresa and Chuck followed. Oh yeah and Minho, couldn't see him.
