• Hailey's P.o.V •

"What is this place?" I looked around as they guide my brother and I through this place.

"It's a good place, sweetie. We're gonna take good care of you here, baby doll." The older man smiled down at me.

His smiled creeped me out that I almost stopped walking.

"Hey don't worry I won't let him touch you." Newt whispered taking my hand.

I looked at him with swelled up eyes and he frowned putting his arm around me. I dug my face into his neck and he just rubbed my shoulder.

"Stay here." The man said before disappearing into a room.

"Hailey you need to be strong Firefly." Newt looked at me. "Please."

"Mum practically threw us out Newt. How could she do that?" I questioned.

He took in a breath wiping a tear that had fallen, "I don't know Firefly. But these people say they're good and that we should trust them. Maybe we should."

I closed my eyes trying to stop from water works happening then opened them. Newt gave me a small smile before the man came out.

"What's your name?" I looked up innocently.

"A.D Janson. Now c'mon."

Wow harsh much.

"Well there's no need to be harsh to my sister. She just asked a simple question." Newt snapped.

"It's ok Newt." I said quietly. "Lets just go to where the man wants us to."

Newt huffed and we began to follow the man to a room. He opened the door and we saw a lot of other kids. My eyes locked with one of them. He had brown eyes and dark brown hair.

I guess he noticed my puffy eyes and frowned.

"Well kids this is, Newt and Hailey." Janson said.

He looked down at us causing me to back up some. Newt rubbed my hand with the pad of his thumb.

"Get to know them."

He rushed out of the room as Newt and I examined the kids. I took in a shaky breath as Newt and I still had each other's hand. That boy came over to us.

"I'm Thomas."

I jolted up looking around seeing we're still in the Pit. I thought we were in the WICKED head quarters. And we aren't thank god. I looked over at Thomas who was still asleep then I looked up to see Spencer still there. I stood up walking over to the door to see if she was hopefully awake. Of course someone jumped in front of the door causing me to scream.

"Calm down, Greenie." I heard the smirk.

I uncovered my eyes to see Minho standing there.

"Minho! Why the hell did you do that?!" I whisper yelled.

"Because guess what my friend?"

"We're gettin' out of this shuck place?"

"I wish but no. I have so kindly convinced Gally into lettin' you run in the Maze today."

"He's lettin' me?!" I got excited.

He nodded, "C'mon you shuck-face." He cut the rope opening the door.

I got over and climbed out of the Pit letting Minho help the rest of the way. I stood up and stretched my back.

"Feel better?" Minho gave me his signature look.
