ISTJ: Top layer of biting anger. Extreme avoidance of others. But there's this soft broken child that just wants to come out and be.
INTJ: Inside their depressed eyes, you can see that their whole world has fallen apart. Similar to the ISTJ, they just want to be seen and loved, but their hearts sink back in more quickly — INTJs have this tendency to "think" about their feelings, and assume that no one can follow their occasionally, debatably paranoid thoughts. (*Ahem, get yoself an INFP).
ESTJ: Screaming and yelling. At their paperwork, printer, neighboring humans, etc.
ENTJ: They deal with depression the same way as everything else in life — logically, directly, and aggressively.
A few thoughts run through an ENTJ's mind during a busy day at work:
This feeling sucks, I don't like this.
What's the best solution to this problem?
Dropping everything to focus on my emotions all day? Sounds excessive.
"Yeah, Bill, I'm here. Tell me more about those revenue cycles."
Next morning, ENTJ wakes up on the brink of catatonic depression.
*Joins in on the ESTJ's screams*
ISTP: Quiet. Sunken. I picture an ISTP experiencing one of the most intense manifestations of depression. They're essentially the opposite of vulnerable, so they have no idea how to express their depressed selves (other than in shockingly childish — and dangerous — ways).
INTP: The INTP also lacks resourcefulness when it comes to depression. They might drink heavily; smoke weed; navigate social media too much. INTPs are a very quiet species, but they wish to find someone to understand and engage with them holistically. While depressed, they might just seek out a friend because their intuition says they need to try something. But odds are they're one of the most helpless types when it comes to interpreting their complex underlying emotions.
ESTP: Hides. Hides. Cute and cuddly. Hides.
ENTP: Softies, softies, softies. They turn really kind-hearted — into literal human teddy bears — under the severest of depressions. (Yeah, I know it makes no sense — ENTPs are narcissistic as hell, right? Nah, man. They just treat life like a mental exercise. ENTPs see life with such passionate clarity for the truth, neglecting so many random feelings that pile up to make the mess that is their sadness. To them, sadness is mental numbness, the sedating ways of our petty moment-to-moment wants).
ISFJ: ISFJs have selfless written all over them. Their black dog'll lead them to cry intensely, alongside a growing despair toward the unappreciative people who they've kept tabs on. On top of that, strong internal conflicts will arise due to their reliability. They'll need a break from others, otherwise risking deepening their depression and (quiet) outbursts.
INFJ: It's too complicated for me to explain. Really, it's too complicated (for me, and for all INFJs). INFJs are the most profoundly emotional type, alongside INFPs. But INFJs, unlike INFPs, have messier emotional storms. Untangling their pain takes an extremely compassionate individual. And they really, really need that person to help. Let me repeat: they need someone to care for them, with full validation and authenticity for once.
ESFJ: Tears bursting at the most unexpected moments, their eyes unwaveringly transmitting waves of pain right into your soul. Seriously. ESFJs are some of the most giving people, especially to their family. While depressed, they'll reach a point where they can't hold back the tears — and boom. On the car drive to work, they'll mentally go over their long list of things to be accountable for, dreadfully unable to redirect attention to themselves (and jeopardizing another rupture of tears).
ENFJ: These types take a beating while depressed. Their internal monologue has a lot to do with the years of playing roles for everyone else but themselves. They'll have these memories flood their minds of past lovers and friends who have wronged them — but only identifying the impressions, not the details in rich accuracy. Depressed ENFJs will be severely on-edge, but due to their highly extroverted orientation, they might not be avoidant of public. Their usually open and diplomatic nature will be overtaken by palpable pain, but they'll try to outrun their unconscious INFP mirror, which knows better than to walk past another corner perfect for crying your eyes out. Luckily, they see the power in vulnerability, and will likely — slash that, it's cosmically destined — find help.
ISFP: Poetic sorrow. Their inner intensity streams through their bodies but ceases to gravitate toward sensory experience — now, they only glance over all the physical things they cherish. Every day, they wish desperately to have the energy to go for a walk and smell the roses again.
INFP: Literal soul implosion. Ever heard of a bleeding heart? INFPs transcend that and just go right into soul bleeding. Yeah.
ESFP: A lot of sleeping and fatty foods.
ENFP: They have death written all over their face. They have death written all over their face. They have death written all over their face. No matter how hard they try to wear an artificial smile, I promise you during depression somewhere their faces will say: I am dead inside.
