Recap-

"Next time I see him, I'm gonna get Komaeda's number."

Chapter Two- Incessant Imagery and a Lilac Lexus

Hajime may not have Komaeda's number, but he certainly had other people's numbers- some were unwanted. For instance, the one texting him now- Ouma Kokichi.

Kokichi was one of his underclassmen when Hajime was still in high school, and now the purple gremlin who referred to himself as the Ultimate Supreme Leader was a senior- one more year and he'd be back to bothering Hajime even more so at Hope's Peak.

'heyyyyyy hinata-kunnnnnn' Kokichi texted, and Hajime could swear he heard a mocking tone. 'whatcha up 2'

'First of all, don't call me that.' 'Second, nothing involving you.'

'awwwww hajime-chan's so meeeeean' 'i bet ur new boyfriend made u like this qnq'

'He's not my boyfriend, Ouma. What do you want from me' Hajime felt himself grit his teeth in annoyance at Kokichi's mention of Komaeda- he wouldn't be acknowledging why anytime soon.

'huuuuh? cant i text my favorite senpai~?"

Hajime cringed at Kokichi's mocking flattery, wanting nothing more than to get this over with. 'Just spit it out, Ouma.'

'fine, fine! ur rly no fun hajime-chan' 'ur cute friend nanami-chan wanted me 2 ask u if u were coming over yet' Kokichi texted, referring to Hajime's friend Chiaki Nanami, whose proficiency in gaming earned her the nickname The Ultimate Gamer in her friend group. She was actually going to college to study computer science, but it was all for her video games.

Hajime blanked. 'Why?'

'u kno, 2 accompany her 2 her gf's place' 'sonia something' 'whatevr! hajime-chan's dumb- just show up!' And with that, Kokichi was offline.

Hajime blinked a couple times, before going to re-read his texts with Chiaki. "'Pick me up at 5 for Nevermi- Oooh," He proclaimed, remembering what he'd agreed to.

"So, you'll come, right?" The mauve-haired girl asked, her eyes still trained onto her Nintendo Switch.

"Yeah, yeah." Hajime glanced at the screen, curious. Chiaki happened to be playing Animal Crossing, which was a little strange for her. "Don't you typically play...more violent games?"

"Mm. But Tsumiki-chan was a little put off by them, so I started playing this. It's cute," Chiaki smiled, her soft voice perking up a little at the end of her explanation.

"Ah," Hajime blinks. "Wait, what did you need me to do?...Chiaki?"

"..." Chiaki stayed attentive to her game, ignoring Hajime.

"Hey, ChiAKI!" Hajime basically yelled, feeling a little bad about how much the gamer flinched. "Sorry..."

"It's fine. Right, what I need you to do. Well..." Chiaki blushed a little, fiddling with her console. "Nevermind-chan invited me over..."

"That's great, Chiaki. I'm glad you've got something else to do other than staring at that console," Hajime teases, and she blushed harder.

"Yes, well, I asked if you could come too. If that's okay."

"Huh? Okay, if you need me to." Hajime was used to Chiaki asking him to accompany her during social things, due to her awkwardness and introversion. "But, are you sure? Wouldn't you rather be alone?" He meant it in the most pure way, really. Still, what he meant wasn't gonna change how Chiaki heard it. "Ah- I just meant-"
