Chapter IX “Diagon Alley”
Arnica had walked in on them, retrieved what she forgot and quickly disappeared again. Ava and Bill talked a little about it but then moved on. They finished their movie and then went to bed. After spending the day with Bill, they had to say goodbye because he had to go back to Egypt. Ava moped around after that but she pulled herself together after a little time. The summer was ending soon and Arnica had to go back to Hogwarts. They were awaiting the letters and their parents had written to their daughters that they would try to make it back in time for Arnica’s send off. They also added money for the school books she would need. One day a couple weeks after Bill, left the letter from Hogwarts arrived and Avalea and Arnica decided to go to Diagon Alley to get all of her books. Arnica immediately sent out letters to her friends to meet her in Diagon Alley and Avalea called Hermione and offered them to accompany them. She wanted to help them as best as she could. They accepted and Avalea offered them to come to her apartment so they could travel by floo. She gave them her address and they ended the call with a time that would fit them all. As soon as she finished the call Ava had told Arnica who smiled. After the incident with Bill, Ava had to explain everything that happened to Arnica, who was absolutely elated to hear about her sister and Bill finally being in a relationship. Ava made her promise not to tell anyone, especially the twins, their parents or her own parents. Ava and Bill wanted to keep all of it to themselves for the time being and Arnica respected their wishes, knowing with Mrs. Weasley’s dislike towards her sister and herself that she would probably not be very pleased. They were getting ready for Diagon Alley, being a bit in a bind. They had overslept and Hermione and her parents would be at the apartment in a brief amount of time. They hurriedly washed up, got dressed and put a little bit of make up on while Ava had charmed the broom again to quickly clean the apartment. She checked to see if everything else was clean. She deemed it clean for visitors and they waited the last minutes for the Granger's arrival. Directly after the clock turned 9 the doorbell rang and Ava went to open the door. Revealing Mr. And Mrs. Granger and Hermione, Ava greeted them.
“Hello Mr. And Mrs. Granger and hello Hermione it’s very great to see you again. Are you already excited to go back to Hogwarts?” Ava asked and Hermione beamed excitedly. Ava let them in and explained how they would get to Diagon Alley. Arnica greeted the Grangers and Hermione before they started to get ready to leave.
“Alright Arnica you go first to show Hermione how to do it. You have to talk very clearly.” Avalea said and Arnica took some floo powder in her hand, stepped into the fireplace and said clear and loud “Diagon Alley". Green flames engulfed her and she disappeared.
“Alright now you Hermione. Don’t worry it looks weirder than it feels.” Ava said and held out the powder to her. Hermione grabbed a handful, stepped into the fireplace and repeated the words Arnica had just said. Green flames engulfed her as well and she disappeared. Mrs. Granger looked very concerned and Ava tried to take away their sceptical thoughts.
“Don’t worry. It looks a lot weirder than it actually is.” Avalea said and Mrs. Granger hesitantly walked into the fireplace. She took a handful of powder from Ava and repeated the words her daughter said. Green flames engulfed her too and in the blink of an eye she was gone. Mr. Granger followed, also with a very worried look. Avalea apparated instead, she preferred apparating to floo. She apparated to the designated floo point in Diagon Alley which was the Leaky Cauldron and was met with everyone. Mr. And Mrs. Granger looked in awe, even though they had been in Diagon Alley the previous year. Avalea could understand that perfectly, sometimes Diagon Alley still amazed her as well.
“Alright, Hermione, you and your parents need to go to Gringotts first to get money.” Avalea said.
“While they do that, I need to go to Madam Malkin’s Robes for all occasions. Fred and George ruined a fair amount of my robes plus I grew out of them.” Arnica said.
