A.N: I always try and wait to post chapters so I don't get ahead of myself, but I'm really impatient so here you go :)
**********
The four of us left the hotel and stood clueless in front of the entrance. I had no idea where we were. It appeared none of the others knew either.
"Any idea where to go?" Ringo asked.
We all shook our heads."You must've said something at the show last night. Goodnight..." I trailed off, hoping John would complete my sentence with the name of wherever we were.
He shook his head. "I can't remember anything from last night."
My heart sunk as I realised he couldn't remember climbing into my bed. He couldn't remember telling me he loved me.
George spoke, breaking me out of my thoughts. "I'm sure we can find a sign or something that will let us know where we are."
This seemed to be the best idea we could think of, seeing as we couldn't ask someone where we were. We headed off down the street, heads low and hunching into our coats. We walked down a few streets, turning a few corners now and then before arriving at a park. There was no sign, and hardly anyone there.
John led us through the unmowed grass, before Ringo tripped over an exceptionally long patch. We all sat down with him, feeling more and more disappointed with our efforts.
"What now?" I asked to nobody in particular.
The only answers I received were a couple of shrugs and a "Dunno."
We lay in the grass, the breeze rustling the hair on my forehead. Even though we hadn't accomplished anything today, this was the most relaxed I'd been in a while. The cold air blowing around me mixed with the occasional chirping of birds was a much more calming surrounding than non-stop screaming. I was amazed that we had gotten this far without being caught.
I sat up slightly, peering through the grass at my band mates. Ringo played with some grass, George looked like he was asleep, and John was looking toward me. He cocked his head, motioning for us to leave. I nodded and stood up.
Ringo lifted his head. "Where you two off to then?"
John shrugged.
"You wanna come?" I offered, which caused John to send a rather agitated look in my direction.
"I better stay here with George. We'll head back soon."
We nodded and John and I headed toward the exit of the park. I stared at my shoes, not really knowing what to say. John stayed quiet too, and I didn't know whether he felt awkward or if he just wanted to walk in silence. His hand occasionally brushed against mine, making my stomach flutter.
I'd never felt so confused in my life. I try so hard to suppress these feelings, yet John sends me such mixed signals. One minute he's being affectionate, next he's talking about shagging women!
We reached the road, and John looked at me.
"Where to now McCartney?"
I honestly had no clue. Here I was, alone with John in a city that I didn't know the name of. It was actually kind of funny.
I looked at John, and we both started laughing. His laughter filled my ears, making his face light up.
God, he was beautiful.
We calmed down eventually, and I put my head on his shoulder. I had no idea why I decided to do what I did, but he didn't seem to mind and he rested his head on my own.
We stood like this for a few minutes, and after a while I closed my eyes and just focused on the feeling of having John around me. My hand found it's way onto his back, and I rested it there before giving it a few pats.
"Come on mate, we better get home."
He shrugged. As much as I longed to stay here like this with John for as long as I could, I was still weary of the possibility of being recognised.
I walked a few steps ahead, before turning and extending my arm toward him. "Care to join me, Lennon?"
He tried to suppress a grin, but took my hand. "It would be my honour, Macca."
When he'd caught up to me and met my pace, I went to release his sweaty hand from mine, but he only tightened his grip. I threw him a puzzled look, but he was looking straight ahead with the grin painted all over him.
