"Grace where's mom?" I asked our helper when I saw her cleaning the dining table.
"Sir your mom went out for a court hearing today." she answered and I pouted before nodding—disappointed at how they forgot what date is it again.
They're not really that affectionate when it comes to parenting but I know they love me. It's just that everytime I'm free from any school works and wanted to spend the day with them, they are not home.
My Dad owns a real estate company where he makes billions every year by building and redeveloping certain lands around the Philippines. My Dad is originally from Thailand but when he met mom, he decided to settle here in Cebu to be with her.
Of course they didn't have it easy when my grandparents knew about my Dad's decision. They were against their relationship because according to grandma, why would Dad marry a woman who doesn't even have assets worth a few millions.
You know... the same family dynasty shit. I didn't know I have that drama in my family until growing up.
Well regardless of what my grandparents thought, Dad still pushed through in making my Mom his wife. Love wins? I'm not so sure about that.
I looked around the mansion while sitting on the couch. Three large rings made of wood that can light up the entire living room serves as the chandelier or should I say the center piece of this mansion giving an illusion of a minimalistic design. Cream white couches were placed in the living room while an abstract painting was placed just above the biggest couch that we have. The center table is made of glass with a black accent in it and on top of it are three large ceramic products that finished the design.
I always wondered what's with the designs and little things around the house that make my friends go "wow!" when it's really normal to me waking up in this huge mansion that my Dad built.
"So what to do now?" I asked as I leaned back to think. I pouted as I stared through my phone and thought of going to the mall to at least spend some time for myself. Well it's not like I'm not spending that much time for myself because I'm always alone in this 1000sqm house.
I took a breath before grabbing my phone and finally decided to call Dad. It took a few rings before he answered.
"Hello Dad?"
"Yes Eero?" he started. I heard people talking in the background so I guess he's in a meeting again.
"Dad can I go out to buy a pair of shoes? I'm kind of bored here at home."
My father has been spoiling me since I can remember. One word from me and he'll definitely buy me that or get the things that I want. After all, money is just a piece of paper for him. He said you can always earn money but you can't earn back the time you lost.
And so... I'm spending his money!
"Eero you still have ten boxes of shoes that you haven't even opened yet and you want to buy more?"
"Dad I need white shoes!" I whined and I can only imagine him rolling his eyes. I giggled.
"Eero you have twenty pairs of white shoes already. You have the lacoste from last month and your mom even got you a Jordan that's worth a few thousands."
"Dad I promise I won't buy an expensive one, please..."
"Eero... money is not an issue. I just want you to use those first because you still have a lot."
"But Dad... it's my birthday." I sadly said though I'm smiling. It's the card that I can use every year and they will definitely give me the go signal.
