Adopted (A 1D Fanfic)

Chapter One

Sadie's POV:

'Sadie, wake up!' Mrs Green's cheery voice awoke me from my sleep. 'Some people are coming to visit the orphanage today!' Sighing, I sat up and walked towards the bathroom where I jumped into the shower, washing my hair and body quickly before getting out. Slipping on a pair of jeans and a top, I quickly put my hair up and headed back to my room. I have no idea who these people that were coming, were but to be honest I didn't really care.

By the time I had finished getting ready, the 'guests' were nearly here so I made my way to the living room along with everyone else, to wait for them to arrive.

Louis' POV:

We were told by Paul that we were visiting an orphanage today, where we'll be surprising the children living there. As well as the workers when we produce a cheque that we are going to donate to them.

We all piled into the van as we left the house we all shared and made our way to the orphanage which was only about half an hour away from us. We were actually quite excited, knowing that we are going to be able to help these children, even if its just a little bit.

On arrival to the orphanage, we were greeted by the main worker. 'Ah, you must be One Direction' she smiled. 'I'm Lisa Green, the children are through there, thank you so much for coming, it means so much' she smiled, pointing to a door in front of us.

Entering the room, there were about seven or eight children scattered around the room, some watching the tv that was in one corner, others playing with toys. Most of the children were around the age of five to nine, however there was one girl, sitting in the corner of the room, earphones in and listening to music. She was clearly a lot older than the others in the orphanage.

Everyone turned to look at us as Liam cleared his throat and began speaking. 'Hello everyone, we've come to speak to you all and see what you're up too!' Liam smiled. The girl looked a little uncomfortable with our presence, Lisa noticed and suggested she went up to her room, in which she immediately agreed to and left. We would see her at the end, after speaking and playing with the other, younger children.

Zayns POV:

'So, what are your favourite toys?' I was currently speaking to Rosie, a six year old orphan. She thought for a while before pointing to a rabbit. I carried on speaking and playing with her before I moved around to another child.

All of these children were so cute and innocent, and are generally happy despite the terrible tragedies that have happened to them and their families. It is heartbreaking to think that these children are alone, with no family around them, they don't deserve it - no one does.

We had finished talking to all of the children, and Lisa was leading us upstairs to where Sadie, the girl that left the room earlier, was. Lisa explained how Sadie may not be too talkative due to past events, however didn't tell us much else.

As we reached her room, the door was shut but you could still hear the faint strums of the guitar and the gentle singing floating through.

Miss Green slowly knocked on the door and entered in. The strumming of the guitar stopped as Sadie put the guitar down. Lisa waked over to where she was sitting and quietly spoke to her whilst we stood there at the door. It was hard to understand what she was saying but I could've sworn she said 'they won't hurt you.'

I looked at the boys and I'm sure they all heard the same as me, why would she think we would hurt her?!

Sadie's POV:

As soon as the 5 boys walked in, I recognised them as One Direction. I wasn't a big directioner or anything, however I fell in love with a couple of their songs - moments, over again and little things. Other than that I don't really know much about them. Although they're famous and everyone knows them, I still felt a little uncomfortable, having five men around me. Therefore, I made my way to my bedroom where I sat down on my bed, sighing. Why am I so difficult, so different and weird. I mean I can't even stay in the same room as One Direction because I'm scared for crying out loud!

I picked up my guitar, my prized possession, and strummed at the strings for a while before singing one of my favourite songs,

'I remember tears streaming down your face 

When I said I'd never let you go 

When all those shadows almost killed your light 

I remember you said, Don't leave me here alone 

But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight....'

I stopped singing when I heard a knock at the door and Miss Green walked in, along with the 5 men behind her. They waited by the door frame as Miss Green came over and carefully sat on my bed. 'Sadie, is it okay if these boy's come and speak to you for a bit?' I think she could see the worry in my eyes, because she carried on explaining. 'I'll stay here with you, I promise they won't hurt you.' She smiled giving me a hug before beckoning them over. 

'Hello love! I'm Louis' the boy wearing stripes said. 

'I'm Harry' the one with curly hair smiled, displaying his dimples 

'I'm Niall' said the boy with an Irish accent 

'Hey, I'm Zayn' the one that had brown hair with a blonde streak explained.  

'And lastly, I'm Liam' the last one smiled at me. 

'I'm Sadie' I smiled weakly at them before looking over to Miss Green who looked at me encouragingly. The boys asked me a little about myself, such as my age and whether it not I had heard of their band. 

It wasn't long before the boys had to leave. They all stood up and engulfed me in a group hug.  

I froze before my legs gave way and I crumpled to the floor, I couldn't help it - they scared me a little.

I started sobbing uncontrollably before I felt someone sit down beside me and placing a hand on my back, slowly moving it around in circles, which surprisingly,  I found extremely soothing. Looking up slightly, I recognised the person to be Louis. 'It's okay, we're sorry,we didn't mean to scare you, we'll never hurt you, it's okay' he repeated over and over again before the tears had stopped and I was more calmed down.

Louis' POV: 

After about two hours we left the orphanage, each one of us a bit shocked at what we had just witnessed. When we went to hug Sadie, we never would've expected her to fall to the ground, curl herself up in a ball and sob like she did.  

Before Lisa could make her way over to us, I had already sat down next to Sadie where I attempted to calm her down. I placed my hand on her back and slowly moved it round on circles whilst whispering things to her. And, eventually it worked! 

All of of the children, despite the devastating things that have happened in their past, look relatively happy and content with living here, despite not having a family. All of them, except Sadie. She looked a little uncomfortable, and seems as if she wanted, more than anything, to have a loving family around her. 

All of us knew that our visit to the orphanage, wouldn't end there. We have to go back at some point, to carry on helping them...
