It was our time.
Our numbers were called and we walked up towards the lyra.
Oh god... we aren't prepared for this in the slightest.
All we did was just mess around and stare at each other the whole time.
Dream looked over at me and noticed the fear in my eyes.
He moved his hand on top of my shoulder and smiled.
"Hey, it's going to be fine. Just follow my lead." He said as he held the hoop for me.
I looked at the ground.
The one thing you don't want to do is fall.
The air is what separates us from normal dancers to aerial performers.
And we must showcase that the air is our ground.
I pulled myself up onto the metal hoop and looked down to see Dream smiling up at me.
My nerves were still rising as everything started to set in.
He noticed that and winked at me.
What is he doing? I swear if this boy pulls any tricks on me right now i'm going to kill him.
The music started and Dream ran in a circle. He stuck one foot onto the hoop and kicked of with his other leg making him sit onto the hoop with me. Using his fingers he signalled me to go into a birds nest on the top. So I looped my two legs on the top of the hoop and arched my back so i could grab my feet and hang there.
As I was doing this Dream moved into an elbow hang as he hung by one arm and dangled from the hoop like a pencil standing up straight.
Dream moved into back circles my putting his two arms around the sides of the hoop and pushed himself to the middle still dangling by his arms. He looked up at me and smirked then signalled me to go into toes on top and hold onto him as me spun.
I moved myself to having just my feet on the top of hoop causing me to dangle like a feather in the wind. My hands reached down for dream as he looked back up at me a smiled.
