Marinette felt her stomach drop as if she was on a roller coaster, but that uncomfort was nothing compared to the pain in her head. It was sickening, like she may vomit. The only thing that soothed her at this time was the sound of a heartbeat in her ear, the warmth of a person holding her close to their chest.
The nauseating bumpy ride came to a stop, and she could hear footsteps, but not her own. She was being carried somewhere, but where? And by who?
She felt a hand brush away her bangs gently before she felt herself being placed on the ground. It took almost all her willpower to open her eyes, just slightly, in order to see who was carrying her. But all she could make out was a flash of white that was gone before she could figure out what it was. An angel? She thought, perhaps she was being saved by a guardian angel. But what was she being saved from?
That was when she realized she had no memory of recent events or events long gone. Her mind was completely empty.
With the last of her remaining strength, she looked up, and saw the moon, or what remained of it. It looked as if it had been sliced in half, or hit by a giant meteor. Marinette had no idea what caused this, but she knew that wasn't what the moon was supposed to look like.
Then she passed out from the pain.

"I told you I saw him with her- There!"
"Oh my god, dude she's back! She's alive!"
Marinette was woken up by the loud shouting, screams of delight and shock. She rolled over, not wanting to open her eyes. It was too bright out for her hurting head, but the voices she heard turned into footsteps until she felt a hand on her shoulder, shaking her.
"Come on girl, please, wake up!"
Marinette slowly opened her eyes, groaning at the light of day making her headache worse. Rolling over, she saw lots of people surrounding her, but the one closest to her, the one holding her shoulder, was a girl with brownish-red hair, and glasses.
Upon seeing her, the girl wrapped Marinette in a big hug, rapidly saying praises and thanks along with the small crowd forming around her.
"Mari I'm so glad to see you! We thought- we thought you got caught in the blast, I'm so sorry, we wanted to go back for you but-"
Marinette pushed away the girl who hugged her, "Wait, I don't understand." She said, "Mari? Who's Mari? And who are all of you? What's going on?"
The girl with the glasses gasped, holding her hands over her mouth. A boy with headphones around his neck quickly scooted over to her and wrapped an arm around her, as she seemed to be holding back tears.
"Marinette, it's me, Alya! Your BFF! P-Please tell me you remember!"
Marinette shook her head slowly, "I... I don't remember anything... anything at all...."
The girl named Alya started to sob, leaning into the boy's chest, who quickly wrapped her in a hug.
Another girl in the group knelt down next to Marinette, turning her head away from Alya and her tears. She had pink hair and a skater helmet on, "Your name is Marinette Dupain-Cheng. We're all your friends. I'm Alix," She started pointing around at the other members of the group, "Mylene, Juleka and Rose, the gang's all here, okay Mari? And we're going to help you remember. Right Alya? Nino?"
Alya wiped her tears and nodded, "We should get her to the shelter, Nino, can you carry her?"
The boy with the headphones nodded, leaning down and picking up Marinette, "You're gonna be just fine dude." He said. As he picked her up and started walking back to the so-called 'shelter' with the group.
