John questions where I'm going as I rush out of his hospital room. Kyo's house. That's where I'm going. Within minutes, I'm at Kyo's doorstep. I knock almost frantically, but more angrily.
Kyo's mom answers. "Rose-chan? Why are you here?"
"Where's Kyo?" I ask sternly. Kyo's mom looks at me a little concerned. "He was heading to your house, why?" I turn and begin running towards my house. "Hey! Rose!" Mrs. Koizumi yells after me, but I'm too far I don't bother answering.
I skid to a stop as my front steps come into view. Kyo sits on them, worried. I stop in front of the walkway and Kyo immediately stands. We stand in awkward silence, neither of us knowing what to say. Suddenly, Kyo speaks up.
"It was an accident." Anger boils up inside of me as I walk towards him. I become furious, my kakugan showing. Kyo puts his hands up in defense, not that it will help. "I-I didn't mean it. John attacked me while I was eating. I got hurt too."
He lifts his pant leg up, revealing a deep gash just healing now. I stop and stare at it in horror. If it's only healing now...it must have been really bad. "I used my kagune in defense. I didn't want to hit John, but I accidentally did. I didn't mean to. I swear. I'm sorry. I'll do anything you want me to, to make up for it. Even if it's never talking to you again."
I can't help but begin to tear up. My kakugan disappears. "You idiot. I would never ask you to do something like never talk to me again." I sigh. "You are so lucky John is going to be fine."
I step towards him and punch him playfully in the shoulder. I calm down more. "I really am sorry." Kyo apologizes again. "It's fine. The worst you did was likely break his arm. Even humans recover from that." I hug Kyo, just to show him I mean it.
Everything will be fine. "You should get home. More doves will likely be patrolling the area soon. Plus your mother is pretty worried." Kyo thanks me and apologizes again. "Shut up with the apologies." Kyo smiles as he runs off.
