02: New Girl

"Y/n, you're here..." The coworker said once seeing you come in. Worry was in his eyes seeing his friend's children scared, worried and puzzled. "Where is dad?" You asked him impatiently. The coworker let out a heavy sigh. "I haven't got any news from the doctors...I don't know what's wrong with your dad...sorry sweetheart," He tried to comfort us with his strong country accent. You didn't care what happened to your dad. You just wanted to see him. You bit your nails and stomped the floor with the sole of your foot. You weren't panting hoping what you thought isn't really what's happening.

Your brothers were scared. They've never been like this in a hospital before excluding your mother's death.  You rapidly continued to stomp your foot faster and bit your nails harder as you intensely looked on the floor. The noise around you started to fade away slowly. Each second was pain. Each minute you felt anxious. Your eyesight blurred with a millisecond and you felt like you were going to leave the world.

"Are you guys relatives of Richard L/n?" A doctor asked, stepping in front of you. You snapped away from this anxiety and felt relief. "Yes, Yes! I'm his daughter Y/n and these are my brothers. Please tell me what's going on," You said anxiously, panting deeply. The doctor sighed.

"It seems that your father has cancer...Liver cancer..." The doctor confessed. Your eyes widen and you felt like tears dripping down your face. Josh and Eric are old enough to understand this. They are more mature than other kids. You hear their sobs. Their soft sobs. They're crying. You're crying.

"Is m-my dad going to be o-okay?" You sniffed. The doctor looks at you with an even sadder expression. "I am afraid not. The only thing we can do is a Liver cancer treatment...that costs thousands of dollars..." Informed the doctor. H-How am I going to get money now...You think as you look down.

"Can I see my father?" You asked. The doctor nodded and led you to the room. You see your father lying on the hospital bed, lifeless. Your brothers couldn't help but hug him. "I'm glad you two are okay," Your dad said proudly, hugging both of them. Then he looked at you. He smiled and said, "Come here, baby..."

His voice sounded weak. You nodded trying to hold in your tears. You walked towards him and fell in his arms. You sobbed on his shoulder. "Honey, don't try. The treatments are too expensive..."

"I can't dad! I can't let you die!" You sobbed.

"Y/n you are a strong girl and have so much life to live...Do your best...always..." He comforted. You stayed there and talked to him for the rest of the time you could.

After an hour of being in the hospital, you decided to go home and plan a way to make more money. You knew it was a bad idea, but you went to the store and bought some food and drinks for the boys and you with the money you got. You silently walked home. You noticed your brothers looking sad. You decided to sing a song for them.

Your vocals calm them down a bit but you were sure that they felt the same way as you, miserable. You arrive home. You tell the boys to go to bed and get sleep for school tomorrow. You didn't know if you should call your friend Mari about this or just tell her tomorrow. You were confused if you should keep this a secret from Taehyung. You didn't want him to worry too much for you. It made you feel guilty.

You throw the money in a cabinet and shut it roughly. Your hair was messy and it was too late to shower. You sighed and dealt with it. You went to bed just like that and hopefully, something good will happen tomorrow.

Hopefully.

You woke up a few hours later, thanks to your alarm. You shut it off and got ready for school. You woke up the boys and made them get ready for school. You had eye bags from lack of sleep. You always sleep late. Thinking about life. Thinking about the future.
