It's time to get ready for prom. Finally. I stood in the bathroom, wearing my dress and applying my makeup when I heard a knock at the door. I sighed and hurried out of the bathroom and peeked through the peephole to see Angie and Dee Dee standing on the other side. I twisted the lock and opened the door to see them smiling like idiots.

"Courtney, your dad wants us to help you get ready while he runs errands." Angie explained, walking into the bathroom to see what I have going on "You've got a great selection going on for you. What do you want?"

"Uh, something simple. Maybe black lids, red lipstick, and some highlighter." I replied, rubbing my arms

"Dee Dee, you do makeup. I do hair. Courtney, go get a chair and put it in the bathroom." Angie instructed.

I grabbed a chair and strategically placed it in the bathroom in front of the counter. I took a seat and watched as the magic unfolded. Angie began brushing through my hair somewhat roughly, making sure no knot was left behind. Next, she dampened my hair with a squirt bottle and curled it into smooth curls. Next, she began making two braids, starting at the front of my hairline, working its way into the back. But not only was she braiding, but she was doing something much more complex that required a lot of tugging. When she was finally done with the braids, she re-curled a few strands of my hair, fluffed everything, and drenched my entire head in hair spray.

During the whole hair fiasco, Dee Dee was attempting to do her best with my makeup. She began by caking my skin with a thick coating of concealer and foundation. Next, brushing on a ton of blush and highlighter, bringing more color to my skin. When she was pleased with that, she began doing a light smokey eye onto my lids, starting with small amounts of black, gradually blending it into a deep red. When she finished my eyeshadow, she moved onto eyeliner and mascara. She gave me a small wing and a few thick coats of mascara, making sure my lashes pop. She then began to shape and fill my eyebrows. Dee Dee added some small touches before dousing my face in setting spray. She then spread a red lipstick across my lips.

"Alright. Go ahead and look." Angie grinned.

I stood and spun around to face the mirror, my jaw immediately dropped. I look like a whole other person. "Wow." I said, a smirk spreading across my lips.

"That's all?" Angie laughed.

"What else is there to say?" Dee Dee added.

"Thank you guys, so much." I said, turning to hug them both just in time for dad to walk in.

He peered into the bathroom and his eyes widened at my appearance. "What did you two do to my daughter?" He questioned playfully, placing his hands onto his hips.

"A badass bitch, that's what." I replied with a gentle toss of my hair.

"Alright, my badass bitch, let's get your shoes onto your feet so we can take pictures." Dad laughed.

I giggled and skipped my way out of the bathroom and towards the small closet. I swung the doors open and picked up my heels, carefully falling onto the bed. I slid my feet onto the small platforms and buckled the back for the second time in my life. I grabbed dad's hand and stood up carefully, my feet slightly wobbling at the new weight balance I have to adjust to. I looked up and smiled. I finally get to go to prom. I glanced at my dad and saw the smile on his face. He brushed a strand of hair away from my face and behind my ear.

"You ready for this?" he asked

"As ready as I'll ever be." I replied.

"Let's take pictures!" Angie exclaimed, pulling out her phone.
