ALTHOUGH SHE COULDN'T SEE HIM because she was blinded by the sudden daylight, the actress grinned widely. The heels of her boots clacked against the roof of the double-decker bus, adding to her intimidating aura. She placed her sunglasses on her head to great the host, the keeping the smile on her lips like her life depended on it. As discreetly as she could, Stella quickly wiped her sweaty palms on her trousers. You've got this. Everything will be fine.
Everything is fine.
Everything is fine.
Everything is fine.
"Hi! It's good to see you, James." She stepped into his welcoming arms, returning his hug as they giggled excitedly.
"It's good to see you!" James countered, then stared at her face, starstruck. He breathed out, "Wow."
"I feel like I'm meeting the First Lady."
The act of an excitable fan was expected as it was dictated in his script, and it was an act he played well. Stella, however, knew that his admiration was genuine. In celebration of her album's success, James and his family had invited her and Harry over for dinner a couple days before her tour. It truly warmed her heart that she had such kind and supportive friends, no matter what the media said about her life.
"Being compared to an Obama is probably the best compliment in my entire career."
She chuckled, taking the name tag James offered and sticking it on the left side of her chest. The brunette saw that the only empty seats were the ones right next to the stairs, she gave her co-stars behind her a small wave, still smiling as she sat down. James joined her soon after making his speech.
The bus made its way through Los Angeles, the cast of Angel singing along to Reggie the DJ. James kept pointing at areas in the city and making funny commentaries, eliciting laughs from the actors and actresses.
It was quite fun, Stella had to admit, but she was getting tired from her carefree façade. Acting was her job, her main source of income; but it could be such a pain when she had to do it for days on end.
She managed to avoid looking at Daniel for the entirety of the show, which was something she wanted to maintain. Her luck was abundant, as the segment went smoothly and was finished with flying colors. The peace, unfortunately, didn't last long when the person in question swiftly cornered her.
"Did you really have to do that?" Daniel hissed.
Stella turned around, barely stopping herself from rolling her eyes at the sight of his unrestrained anger. How typical of him. She, deciding to be the grown adult that she was, settled for a raised eyebrow. "Isn't that supposed to be my line?"
