Chapter Ten: Final countdown

Chaos happens all at once, I duck and the hunter shoots, the bullet meets my shoulder and I cry out. Emmy turns and bites the hunter nearest to her, he drops the gun and clutches him hand. Toby and Jet take down a dozen hunters, Jay an the twins rush over to us and we are set free.

"Are you alright?" I ask Emmy.

"Yes I'm fine, go fight and get us home" she replies.

I roll my eyes and soon join in the fight. I duck and punch, and the hunter falls. I pull out my gun and shoot him. I duck and spin, another hunter falls. and I do the same again.

We fight forever and still more hunters come at us. Emmy and Hunter are together, Jet and Jay are close to the girls and me, Toby and Jaze fight side by side. "stop!" I hear someone shout and I stop.

"Kay if you want your girl to live come here" I turn and snarl, a hunter has Emmy and Hunter.

"Let them go" I say, my voice sound like a wolfs.

"Come here" he says.

I leap with swift accuracy and he lets the girls go, his gun is trained on my chest but I don't care, I leap and he shoots. The bullet and my flesh collide in midair. I phrase not caring about the pain I'm in, I land and growl.

His eyes widen in fear and he take off running, I chase and he gets faster. No match for my wolf and as we catch up I leap. He falls and I end his pathetic little life.

I go back to the fighting and find Emmy has phrased into her alpha wolf. I meet her and together we wreak havoc on the hunters army.

My love for her grows and soon she is the only thought in my head. We fight together and it's makes us stronger. The more hunter that comes the more we take down.

Hunter attack from all sides but with all our pack we are stronger then the hunters. "lets go" Toby shouts, he is the only one in human form and we all listen.

I nip Emmy and we back to Jay and Jet, together the four of us fall back to where Hunter and Jaze are, and then we continue to fight, I duck and leap so many times, I start to go lightheaded.

Toby shouts something I can't hear but the rest do, they start to go to where Toby is. "we have a problem" he says when we are next to him.

I look to where he is looking and see a sea of hunters making their way to us. I growl and leap into the mass of hunters, knifes batter me but nothing will stop my drive for revenge. I bit and claw my way to the other side and hunters fall, Emmy is the next to go and I meet her in the middle where the hunters are. I guide her to the other side ad the rest of the pack follow.

The hunters change their course and follow us, I bark to show I'm staying behind to defend our pack. Emmy growls but goes with the pack. I start fighting again.

Lots of the hunters have guns but with how many are there, they are scared in-case they shot one of their own. I duck and bite and after some time, I decide to run.

I leap the rocks and duck under bushes, my whole body hurts but I refuse to give in to let my body heal. Blood drips from my body as I run and I know I need to get back to the pack and fast.

I push myself fast, I stumble because of blood lose and I fall completely after half an hour. I give up a let my body heal it's self.

After some time I hear paws running in my direction. "Kay" Toby shouts. I bark and let my eyes close, knowing I'm safe with pack.

"I got you Kay" I hear Toby say as my body is picked up off the ground.

I huff and curl up. "he's lost a lot of blood, I'll ring mike" I hear Toby say to Emmy. She whines and runs off to ring mike.

I whine when Toby sets off, "it's ok Kay your going to be fine, just think of Emmy"

I sigh and drift into a dreamless sleep. On the way home I'm in and out of consciousness, I hear Emmy come back but I can't move to greet her.

Once we get in the house, mike comes in and start to work, I growl when he hits a sore spot.

Emmy holds my hand the whole time and after she lays next to me "I love you, you idiot" she says. I lick her hand and she laughs.

Over the next few days I slip into a deep sleep, even Emmy can't wake me from.

I feel the silver start to recede from my body and the sleep starts to let up. I can hear the packs worrying and I just want to tell them how great I feel.

I sigh and start to fully wake up, my body is now healed and I think I can take down anything. "hey" Emmy says as I open my eyes.

"Hey" I choke out.

"I was worried you would die" she sniffs

"Why would I want a break, we haven't got married or had our holiday yet?" I ask her.

"I know but you were badly hurt" she says.

"Sorry" I mutter, I take a deep breath and her scent fills my nose.

"I love you, I never ever want to lose you" she says.

"I love you too and your not going to lose me." I say while trying to hug her.

"Take it easy, your still hurt" she says.

"I could never hurt with you around" I whisper

I sigh and the darkness takes over, the last thing I hear is "I love you and I'll be here when you wake up" Emmy says.
