Right as the nurse discharges me, I run straight to the Metropolitan Tokyo main gym. The final game between Fukurodani and Itachiyama is about to start and it's as packed in the gym as I had expected. There seems to be no seats in the stands, so I text Kuroo, Where are you guys??

Nekoma was planning to leave for home this morning but Kuroo had convinced Coach that it would be good for the team to watch the championships so they were staying another day.

I'm doing jumping jacks. Can you see me?

I look around until I finally see a 6"2 male with dark hair jumping comedically. Laughing, I stride on over. There's the team, and I sit in the empty seat in between Kenma and Kuroo.

"Thanks for saving my seat!" I say. They all greet me and give me a thumbs up.

The players on both teams are on the courts and in their positions so I made it just in time. I search for the jersey #4 and see him in the front middle. Standing, I yell, "Go Fukurodani! Let's go, TIGER!"

Bokuto looks up and spots me after hearing my cheer. He smiles, pumps his fist in the air and yells back, "Hey, hey, hey!!"

I sit back down and Kuroo leans towards me, saying, "Since when did the owl become a tiger hmm?"

I hit his shoulder at the same time that the starting whistle blows. The game has begun!

Both teams are absolute beasts on the court. Scoring one after the other back and forth, the score gap doesn't grow larger than two points at any given time. Bokuto is scoring many of the points, but so is the ace of Itachiyama, Sakusa. It's like a head to head battle between the aces of two of the best teams in Japan. Everything seems to be going so fast and before I realize that 2 hours had gone by, the score is a 2-2 set tie. They're going to a full 5 sets to decide the champions under 19 bracket of the nation!

While they are playing, their moves look effortless but it's during the breaks and time-outs that I can really see how much they are sweating and panting and how tired they must be. It's 12-10, Fukurodani winning, but they are quickly and definitely losing steam, not a good sign.

"I'm gonna go down there," I say, standing up.

I sprint down the stairs and to the side closest to Fukurodani. You see the team in their team huddle at time-out. C'mon guys, you can do it, I think. The ref blows the whistle and the game resumes.

13-12. Itachiyama had almost caught up and it was anyone's game since whoever gets to 15 first wins. I'm clasping my hands together so hard that they've turned white. I don't cheer or shout but just silently project my thoughts. C'mon, Fukurodani.

Fukurodani's libero receives the next serve and Akaashi gets to it smoothly. They're doing an all-in approach with all the players running towards the net. The other team is vigilantly searching for where they think the ball will go to when... whoosh.

The ball was bouncing on Itachiyama's side of the court without it having been spiked. Akaashi just dump set it! The crowd goes wild! What a play and what a time to make such a bold move.

14-12. Ok, ok. You got this. C'mon, Kotaro, c'mon. You've worked so damn hard for this moment, just one last push, tiger. As if he could sense my thoughts, Bokuto turns exactly in my direction and makes direct eye contact with me. I'm silent but he nods as if he knows what I would've said and smirks.

Akaashi serves it and Itachiyama receives it up. It gets set up in a very high arch to Sakusa who spikes it furiously and- KA-BAM!

Sakusa had spiked it but Bokuto blocked it square on. He got the final point. Fukurodani had won.

There's a second of silence and then the entire gym is filled with cries and cheers for the yellow and black team.

AND THERE YOU HAVE IT FOLKS! IN A GREAT, UNEXPECTED TURN OF EVENTS, ITACHIYAMA HAS BEEN DETHRONED FROM THEIR #1 POSITION. WELCOME JAPAN'S NEW UNDER 19 CHAMPIONS: FUKURODANI!
