Elizabeth POV

"Your skills have proven well."

I disconnected the blade and handed the two parts two her.

"Meet me here tomorrow at the same time. You have a lot of potential Ms. Rose."

Her eyes were glued to the Burial Blade. She slung the handle for the scythe over her back and attached the sword to her belt.

"Thank you. I'm looking forward to it."

"I'll be rooting for you and Weiss tomorrow. I expect to see some of what we learned today."

"Are you allowed to say that... legally?"

"No." I said as a smile found my face.

We both chuckled as she started walking in the other direction. I sat down on the bench and gazed at the blade of the Rakuyo. Memories. They haunted me everyday. As I looked into the blade I saw my old friends. I saw Ludwig and his mystical blade. I saw Eileen and her beauty that she hid behind her mask. I saw Gehrman and the way the he looked at Maria... oh Maria. My breath became shaky as my eyes started to water.

It didn't take long for tears to drop. And for the first time in years I cried, sobbed even. The tears falling on the Rakuyo which I had dropped on the floor. I kicked the Rakuyo a few meters away from me as I could not bare to look at it.

I heard footsteps in front of me. I looked up to see Ozpin staring at the Rakuyo I had kicked his way.

"Has this been troubling you?" He asked as he picked it up and walked over to me.

"Just old memories Ozpin." I managed to say while I was sobbing.

Ozpin made his way over to the bench and sat down next to me. He rested his hand on my back in an attempt to help.

"If you could tell me those memories I might be able to help. If you want to though. I wish not to overstep myself."

"No. I'll tell you." He moved his hand off my back and started to clean off my Rakuyo with it.

"To start, I'm not from Yharnam. I originate from Cainhurst. Yharnam and Cainhurst aren't the most friendly towards each other. When the Healing Church was established, one man stole forbidden blood and ran all the way to Cainhurst. Once there he ministered it to the Queen. The Healing Church excommunicated the man, and due to the Healing Church being the leaders of Yharnam, the man was hated there too. And in turn, Cainhurst.

I left Cainhurst when my friend told me that executioners would make their way to Cainhurst and slaughter everyone within the week. I left on the day he told me that.

I fled to Yharnam due to its proximity. I took up work as a hunter for the Healing Church. I got by undetected. And it stayed that way until I met Maria. She too originated from Cainhurst. She became my mentor due to our bond that no one else could know about. Through her I met the friends of a lifetime.

There was Ludwig who had a blade of mystical origins and led most hunters in the nightly hunts. There was Eileen who was stone cold and taught me how to suppress the urges of the beast. Finally, there was Gehrman. He was the first hunter of the healing church and well respected by everyone.

The first to go was Ludwig. He had left a note behind stating that he was close to becoming a beast, that he must flee so that he could save our lives. That day we all were very quiet.

Not too long after, Gehrman and Maria set out on a mission to a fishing hamlet. It was ordered directly by the Healing Church so it was of high importance. When Maria came back she handed me her hunting clothes, her weapon and left for a life of pacifism. Shortly after, she committed suicide. I sobbed in Eileen's arms all day and all night until I cried myself to sleep. No one knows what happened in that hamlet, and to be honest, I don't want to know.
