"Wha-what did you see yesterday" I asked her, feeling nervously. What if she saw my fight? No way because she would have told mom. Would if she tries to blackmail me or something.
"I saw you limping to your car, is everything okay?" She asks me with concern in her voice. Relaxing and letting the air I was holding out, knowing she didn't see me fight. "Yeah I'm cool, it's just my knee. I banged it when I was playing around with my friends" I lie to her.
"Well I ca-can take a look at it? I am a physical therapist" she tells. What's this?why is she stuttering? "I guess you can. It was a bruise there last night, and it's still there." I pulled up the leg of my sweatpants to see the bruise was fading a little bit. "Oh it's not that bad" she says. She goes to her bag and starts to dig for something.
She takes out a jar and some bandages from her bag. Coming back to me, "Sit" she tells me and I follow her instructions. She grabs my bad leg, putting it on her lap. "Alright kid, this going to hurt a little bit, so you're going to want to bite down on this" she tries to hand me a mouth guard. "No I don't need that" I shake my head. She chuckles a little "You think you're tough" she says with humor.
She starts to put pressure on my knee, making me jump up a little. "Sorry. It's a little tender but lucky it's not broken or sprained" she tells me. She grabs the jar then opens it up, taking some grease in her hand. "I cooked this up during one of my hiatus from work" she says, starting to rub the grease together with her hands.
"Sounds like you were making drugs in a lab" I tell her. "Oh I did, but not that type of drug your thinking about" she starts to rub the ointment on my knee. I can feel my knee heating up "right now it's heating up then you're going to start feeling some numbing but don't worry that means it's working" she begins massaging it.
"How's school been going? Your mom told me that you started this week." She asks me. I couldn't even pay attention to what she was saying, how good my knee was feeling right now. "It's starting to relax the muscles in your knee, but come on, tell me how's school now".
"It's good, I guess. You know mom putting me in all these AP classes going to have me stressing this year, but besides that just chilling." I tell her. She starts to laugh, "I remember Senior your mom had me change all my classes to hers so we can be together, but I didn't realize that she had all advance classes until it was too late, and I had to keep. That was the most stressful year for me". She says going down memory lane.
"So what I'm hearing was you a sucker" I tell her with a smirk on my face. "I'm no sucker kid, but your mom has this... I mean had this hold on me when we were in school" I watched her face expression change and I couldn't tell what she was feeling. "You and my mom were really close back then, huh?" I asked her.
I saw a smile appear on her face, but she had her head down, so I could barely see it, but I knew. "Your mom and have been together since we were in the diapers. Your grandma and my mom were best friends, so we were always together. She's always been my partner in crime when we're little." She says, then begins to wrap my knee with wraps. "We did everything together and created memories" she gives me a look I couldn't read.
She shakes her head seems like she's shaking her thoughts away, "So tell me have you found a girl who caught your eye or a boy? I would rather not assume." She changes the subject. "No not really" I shrug my shoulder.
"Cut the shit, I know you're lying. Who is it?" She asks me while putting my leg down, which, by the way, feels great now.
I don't know what's going on, but I just got this feeling like I can trust Jamie and tell her anything. "It's this girl, and we've been friends before I had moved an-and I don't know if I like her" My heart jumps just thinking about Adrian.
"That's it? You just like her?" She raises one eyebrow up. "Yeah" I nonchalantly say. "Well how red your face is looking right now, it seems like you feel more for her than just like the kid" she says with a smirk. I look down, trying to hide my face. "Hey look at me" nudges my shoulder, making look up. "If you really have feelings for this like I think you do. You need to go for her before it's too late, and she's found someone else, and it will fucking suck".
"Are you speaking from experience?" I asked her. She starts to nod, "Trust me Jordan. I'm still living with my mistake's until this day" She says.
"What if she doesn't return those feelings I have for her? Or... or she does, and we get together, but we don't work out? What then, huh?" I stressed out. My heart started to race just thinking about Adrian not accepting my love for her. It's started to become difficult to breathe.
"Hey...Hey Jordan" Jamie puts her hands on my shoulders "Please calm down sweetie, control your breathing" she starts to do breathing techniques and I start to copy her. "Listen to me, Jordan, you have to calm down. Okay?" She moves her hands to my cheeks, making me look at her. "I don't want to lose her" I whisper to myself but loud enough for her to hear me. Ew, what the hell, when did I become such a simp?
"And you won't Sweetie. But you got to put yourself out there because how do you know if she's the one if you don't talk to her about how you feel" I nod agreeing with her? I wonder who Jamie let get away.
"Now, let's stop this sappy shit. I brought a baseball and gloves, we can play catch" taking out the objects out her bag. I take the glove, walking to the middle of the field. "I'll go easy on because injured" she said with a mocking tone. " Yeah whatever, just throw the ball, old lady. She starts to laugh, then throws the ball.

After playing catch with Jamie which she didn't go easy on me. I decided to go to Adrian's house to confess my feelings to her.
Arriving at her house, parking in the front. I got out of the car and knocked on the door, I waited for someone to answer it. I should have text jay letting her know I was coming, for she could have the door open for me.
The door finally opened, and it was Mrs. T. "Oh hey Jordan!!" She enthusiastically says. "Hi Mrs. T" she moves to the side, letting me in. "Jay is at the doctor's appointment right now but Adrian is here" she tells me. "Oh that's cool I'm here for her anyway" I let her know.
"Well she's up there with her company so go on up there" she pats me on the shoulder. I make my way upstairs when Mrs. T stops me, "Are you staying for dinner?". "Yeah. I'll call mom to let her know" "okay boo".
I stop at Adrian's door, making sure I knock on the door this time. I can hear voices in the room, probably Summer. The door opens, "He-" "O'Brien" I stop talking once I see the familiar douche.
What the fuck is going on here!? Why the hell is he here without a fucking shirt?
"Terrence who's at the door" I hear Adrian which sounds like she's getting up from the bed. She walks to the door, and she stops in her tracks, looking surprised. "Jo what are you doing here" she asks me.
I can't even process anything right now, I'm so confused about what's going on. Are these two together ? I look at Terrence to see a smirk on his fucking face. It's taking everything in me not to dropkick him. "Jordan?" I look at her and she also has a confused look. I needed to leave now, so I decided to walk away.
"Jordan where are you going? Wait, come back" I can hear her following me downstairs, but I ignore her pleads and get in the car and drive away.
I knew I shouldn't have listened to Jamie. Should have just can't my feelings inside and left her alone.
I feel my phone vibrate, taking it out my pocket, and it's Adrian, so I let it ring. I feel a few more vibrations and now it's texts messages.
Adrian🤩: What's going on? Are okay?
Adrian🤩: Why aren't you answering my calls?
I put my phone down, turning on the radio, ignoring the rest of her texts and calls. I let the music drown out my thoughts and kept on driving.
