Chapter Five

"Jordan, is that really you?" she has confusion written all over the face. I take a little moment to admire her face and Damn she looks good from the last time I saw her. She matured a lot, not the same four eyed little girl.

But I got to stay focus and abort this mission. "Hey Adrian" I give her a small wave. She's still staring at me like she's debating on whether I'm real or not. "See you later, Adrian".

I walk away from her and make my way outside, I see Alice and her friends waiting by the car talking. Alice looks at me and her face expression changes when she sees me. I shake my head at her, silently telling her to leave it alone because I know she was going to start asking me a million-one questions. She tells her friends something, and they nod their heads, "see you later Jordan" Paige says waving at me and Robin gives me a smile then they walked a way towards a group of girls.

"Jordan!" I hear someone call out to me once I open my door. I turn around to meet the girl who's been haunting my dreams for a few years now. "Yeah" I say to her, avoiding eye contact. "When did you get here? I didn't know you were coming back home, Why didn't you tell?" She sounds really upset and confused. I sigh and finally looking up at her, and I was correct, she's definitely upset. So, I do what I do best when I'm in a sticky situation and that's avoiding it, so I turn around to try to get in the car. She grabs my arm to stop me, "What the hell, Jordan! Why aren't you talking to me?" I'm undoubtedly pissing her off.

"Hey Adrian, chill out" Jayden says, putting a hand on her shoulder. Shit, Jayden, why did you tell her that? I put my hands on my face, already tired of this. Adrian snaps her head towards Jayden with her grip still on me. "Shut up Jayden! Why didn't you tell me she was coming back?" She was stocking towards jay. Jay knows she should have kept her mouth shut, knowing how Adrian is. "All I'm saying is to calm down, you're making a scene" she says putting her hands up. My eyes go wide once she tells her to come down, why are you so dumb, jay, I thought to myself.

"Don't tell me to calm down! You're my cousin for fuck sakes" Adrian says, letting me go and now jamming her finger into Jayden chest. "I-I know that b-b-but she's my best friend" she looks terrified of the shorter girl. "She's my best friend too!!" Jay looks up at me for help, but I shake my head, hell no, I'm not going to step in. Adrian is still yelling at her now, jay begging me to get the small girl off her. I sigh putting my head down" I told her not to say anything" Adrian stops in her tracks. She turns around making eye contact with me" What?" She says with her eyes starting to get glossy, I sigh again" Adrian please you're making a scene"

" I don't care! Why didn't you want me to know?" her voice starting to crack. Fuck me, man, I've never liked to see her upset.

"Jordan" I turn around to look at Alice" just talk to her" I scrunch my eyebrows" how are you going to get home?" I ask her. " I'm sure Jayden can give me a ride" she smiles at me. I turn around to jay, "you got my sister?" She gives me a smirk, "I sure do" I give her a deadpan look and PAC starts laughing.

I look at the smaller girl who is still staring at me, "did you drive here?" I ask her. She shakes her head no shyly, Funny now she wants to act innocent. "Get in the car" I tell her. She nods her head and goes to the other side. I look at jay, whose opening the door for Alice," Hey! You better be safe with my sister" "oh I will" she close the door and smirks at me. "Stop it" I chuckle turning around getting in the car. I look at the girl who's looking down at her lap. I didn't mean to hurt her feelings.

The drive was quiet on the way to her house, I finally get there and park in the front. Her house still looks the same, well, they got a new mailbox, but I know the reason for that. "Why didn't you want me to know" she asks lowly? Man, I really don't like to see her upset, When we were kids I use to make sure she was always happy and smiling. "I thought you wouldn't care" I tell her. She looks offended by what I just said, "of course I would care, why would you think that?" Starting to get water eyes again. "We haven't talked in two years Adrian, you stop writing me, so I thought you were done with me" I tell her.

She puts her head down and sighs, I know she feels guilty of it. "I know Jordan I know" she pauses for a little then she continues "I'm not trying to make any excuses, but I got busy once I got to high school. My dad already started to put me in these programs for college, you know how he is about my education. I'm class president and captain of the volleyball team. I had a lot in my plate" she says trying to make me understand. I scoff at her, she's definitely making excuses "yeah I get it you were too busy for me, you don't have to worry about me. I think you should go inside." I unlock the car door "Jordan" she whines "you should go" I turn forward avoiding eye contact with her. "Stop it. I'm sorry, I was selfish and wasn't a good best friend, but please let me make it up to you. Please look at me" she says crying, holding on to my arm. I still look forward, I'm not going to get trapped in her game. "please" she says with her baby voice. SHIT. She did the voice, I turn my head only to get trapped in beautiful brown eyes.

"Please JoBear, please forgive me" she says with the puppy dog face, I scrunch my face up dammit she got me. "Fine" I sigh with defeat, man I'm a sucker for puppy dog eyes. She squeals and starts jumping in her seat, still holding on to me. "Hey listen, you really hurt me Adrian and you left me when I needed you the must, so It's going to take a lot to be my number one girl again" she pouts again but then nods her head" I know, and I will, I'll never abandon you again" she pulls me into a hug. I nod my head at her "I know Adrian". She pulls back and shoves my shoulder" stop calling me that" she pouts again. I laugh at her antics "sorry, but you got to earn that nickname again" her pouts gets even bigger" I laugh hard and grab her bottom lip. She slaps my hand away, "Stop it. I'm going to earn my name back TRUST, but I'm not going to stop calling you yours because you always will be MY JoBear" she hugs my arm tight.

I smile down at her, happy to have her back in my life. I was going to say something to her when I hear a knock on the window, I look towards it, and it's a person.

"What's going on in here" the voice says
