Chapter Ten

We get there pretty fast because of Adrian singing through the whole car ride, which was very entertaining and making the trip a blink of an eye. I open the door for her and once again she latches herself on me.

Getting inside the arcade, I look around, and I'm pretty shocked, Everything still looks the same since the last time I was here.  All the machines look in good condition still, even looks like they have new games.

"Does it still look like a dungeon to you?" Adrian looks up at me with a smirk. I chuckle, shaking my head. I start to walk around checking out the place while Adrian went off somewhere. They still had the classic vintage games like PAC man, Donkey Kong, street fighters etc. I keep walking, checking out all the cool stuff that's been added to the arcade, when I stopped in my tracks.

I'm frozen in my spot of what I see it, the game of all games. 'Ms.PAC Man' my favorite game and only game I planned when coming here. I walked towards the game, and it was a small line to play the vintage game. Which came as a shocker to me because back then no one wanted to play it because it was "A second hand game or a girl's game". They didn't have any damn sense back then.

Finally getting to the game, a little girl is playing it. She's doing pretty good, but she's not better than me, I can beat this game in my sleep. Checking my pockets to see if I have a quarter. I found one and put on the machine, "I have next" I stated, letting all the ugly little kids know. Most of them sighs and walk away, but one kid decide he's going to be the bold guy and walk up to me.

"Who do you think you are coming in here cutting in line, asshole" he pumps his chest out to me? Did this kid just call me an asshole? I squat down to his level, "You shouldn't be using that type of language, kid" I tell him. He steps up closer to me "Yeah and you shouldn't be cutting the line asshole but here we are" okay this kid really has some balls.

"Now you listen here you little shit, I'm going to tell you this once 'I step closer to him' never call me an asshole, you hear me?" He doesn't even flinch, "Asshole" he says. Okay, this fucker is getting it. I grab him by his shirt, and he starts to throw punches, then his snot nose friends start to join in too. I'm really getting my ass handed to me by some kids.

"I leave you for five minutes, and you're already getting yourself in trouble" I look up and see Adrian standing there with her arms crossed.

"Stop, Miss Adrian is here" one of the kids said. All the kids stop ganging up on me and back up. "Miss? What are you doing here" another kid says. " Yeah and what are you doing here with this Asshole" the little shit mumbles the last part under his breath.

"Miss?" I questioned looking at her. "Yeah I volunteer at the boys and girls club" she says helping me up. She turns her attention to the boys, "Now boys, what did I tell you guys about fighting?" They all have their heads down while her hands on her hips, scolding them.

"Miss!! We were minding our own business when this jerk had cut us in line" the little shit tells on me. She snaps her head towards me and I gulp, putting my head down as well. "Is that true Jordan" ah shit she used the government name. "What! Nooo! Those little shits... I mean kids are lying Adrian" I say, blocking the view of the shits who are jumping trying to get her attention.

"Okay that's enough you guys" Adrian grabs me and puts me behind her. "Now kids, I'm sorry about Miss Jordan here, she still needs help with the manners department. I got these quarters for her, but since she's not going to need them anymore, so I think you guys should have them. What do you think?" She dangles a small bag in front of her, I'm guessing it has MY quarters in it.

"Yeah!!" All the little shits yelling and jumping for My quarters. "Okay here you go" she hands the bag to the main little shit "Wait Adr-" she covers my mouth "Now run along boys, I'll see you guys next weekend, and I'll even bring Jordan" my eyes goes wide when she says that, the hell I will. The shits leave with My sack of quarters.

Adrian turns around to look at me and right when I was about to say something she makes me in the arm hard. "Ow Adrian that hurt" I hold my arm. "Good, you deserve it, why do you have to pick fights with kids, Jordan?" She scolds me. "Those kids started with me, calling me names and fighting me" I tell her. She gives me a really look like she knows I'm lying. I sigh, "Okay, I started it, but I got excited seeing Ms. Pac Man. It's been so long since I played it, and I wanted to avoid waiting in line." She sighs, knowing how I felt about this game and how this game got me through some shit back then.

She engulfs me in a hug, and I hug her back. She pulls back but still has me in her hold, "come on let's play some guys" she smiles at me. "I thought you gave those shi- I mean kids My quarters" she lifts her eyebrows at me "What I said kids" she shakes her head and laughs "I didn't give them these" she takes another sack out of her purse. I grow a huge smile on my face, "Can we play Ms Pac Man?" She smiles and nods the head.

I nod my head towards the little girl who is still playing. Adrian looks at me "I got this" she pats my chest then walks to the little girl and starts to chat with the girl. They look back at me then back to chatting. The girl starts to nod the head, smiling at Adrian. They make their way towards me, they finally get to me and both smiling at me like a bunch of idiots. "Amy this is Jordan, Jordan Amy" Adrian introduces us to each other.

"You're The Jordan" she asks with excitement. I drop my head down and huff, I forgot Adrian made me put that name on there. "Yeah, I'm Jordan" I tell the small girl. She screams with excitement and hugs my leg. "Oh my god, I can't believe I'm meeting The Jordan. Your high score is untouchable, No one has able to be your score" she says in one breath. No one has beat my old high score yet? Now this going to be fun. I walk up to the game and start to play.
