The sound of the constant ringing coming from your phone was annoying you, it woke you up. You force your tired eyes open to the sun of messages from your phone.
It was Alex, spamming you with calls and a few notifications of texts.
Fuck, It wasn't the best time to meet Alex here. Especially since you're with Karl right now, they're practically rivals! Whatever Alex had to say has to wait, you needed to tell him the plan and explain everything before he gets mad.
A headache popped up out of nowhere, assuming it was from your assumptions of what would happen. If Alex would go mental seeing you with Karl, or if Karl would try to start a fight Alex right in front of you. The most crucial question was, would you guys still be friends?
Your mind needed some rest. You removed Karl's hand away from your stomach and broke free away from his arms. You wrote a quick note saying you'll be gone.
When you were on the brink of putting your phone down to your pocket, another message slid down to the top of your phone. Alex, again. He said where he was staying which was only a few minutes away.
Obviously, Alex would recognize you if you were walking down the street. If he also found out were staying with Karl, he would definitely not like that. You took your belongings and walked to the lake you went to as a child, your comfort place.
When you arrived, the place was filled with snow. The lake was glass clear, reflecting the messy cluster of trees covered in snow and the enormous mountains somewhat hidden from the dim fog. The atmosphere was peaceful as always, all you could hear was the sound of your nostrils releasing air. You let your body drop down to the thick snow as delightful as a snowflake. Your eyelids slid down as tears spill out your eyes, you needed this. A time for yourself to cry.

"Umm, you think they're dead?" a feminine voice whispered.
"Of course not, don't be an idiot, Claire!
You felt someone poke your cheek, you were too groggy to care.
"THEY'RE DEAD!" says someone with their voice cracking.
Your eyes unfold to see a group of teenagers worried. When they saw your eyes wide open, they ran away in fear. One of them even fell right into a pile of slush. You checked your phone, It was already 6:43. Under the time were numerous texts and calls coming from Karl and Alex, are they really that worried?
You responded to them, saying you just had a long nap. They immediately began to type which made you grin. You put your phone back in your pocket and made your way home, and of course it began to rain. While you were walking, the rain slowly started to plummet harsher. What made the journey back home worse, is that you could hear behind you a car. The sound of a car decreasing its speed, heading closer and closer. You spared as much effort to control your composure even if it were difficult. Your limbs were tired, saying they don't want to fight right now, so you speed walked away from the car. You were so close to the hotel, only a block away. Until, the sound of a car door closing caught your attention.
